Jose Mourinho is boss

The difference is, Klopp is media friendly and has the press in the palm of his hand. He still gets criticised though, quite a few times last season over his defence. Not sure you can say otherwise. A couple of times we’ve seen him react straight after the match when criticised. Mourinho is extremely guarded and defensive, arrogant man. He creates his own negative headlines with silly quotes and reaction ala last night. The press just report it. He brings it upon himself. If he remained upbeat and didn’t resort to petty arguments he wouldn’t create his own negative headlines. His digs over Woodward, Pogba, the transfer window is what’s bought us here. Pochettino doesn’t court controversy so doesn’t get it. If ANY Manager of the top clubs were as outspoken as Jose has been, the press would have a field day when things go awry. You need to stop being so precious and paranoid.

Are you serious?! Klopp is practically a Volcano waiting to go off, so you not remember his press conference when he asked all the journalists about the penalty and they disagreed with him so he said it was one in an everton coat? He’s blown up at journalists loads of times over minor stuff the difference is it doesn’t happen as often becuse he’s not criticised as much. I understand Mourinho’s reactions. If i was in his position with his trophies being questioned by hacks then Id probably snap too.

The good thing about any defence of Jose is it usually flushes the Kopites on here out as it’s a red rag to a bull to them.

Again, Jose produces his own negative headlines. We’ve had, for weeks, him complaining about the window, his defence, making negative remarks about his own players, his odd press conferences, etc etc. Add all this to bad performances and he’s gonna get it. I don’t think there’s any media conspiracy or anything that some managers get it while some don’t, like you’re making out. Jose, by his actions, courts controversy and is therefore going to create headlines. Not hard to understand. I’m not bringing Klopp into this, you are. Only thing I’ve said is that he does and has got plenty of criticism. Whereas Poch doesn’t court publicity and is very quiet in comparison so probably doesn’t get criticism as he doesn’t say things that might come back and haunt him, isn’t confrontational and comes across as a nice guy.

I'll always enjoy him as a personality - not least for his enduring hatred of Liverpool - but he's definitely looking like yesterday's man.

Ultra-pragmatism simply doesn't reap the rewards that it did ten years ago, and his style of man-management is, in my opinion, better suited to a nouveau rich club such as Chelsea, where there isn't a weight of history on his shoulders, or Inter, where his was the biggest name on the marquee.

Basically, United, like Real Madrid, is a terrible fit, because even if he does deliver a major trophy, it won't be done in the style that they're accustomed to.

Klopp and Poch get a free ride from the press and from their own supporters because they're not at huge clubs who expect to win things. The pressure is on Mourinho because he does win things and their fans expect. If Poch moved to United I think the press would be completely different with him.

Any interviews I've ever heard with players who have played under Mourinho they absolutely adore him so not sure where this losing the players theme has come from.

He stopped blues from suffering years of pain. Not only that but he stood in front of those idiots who ram Liberpewl down our throats week in week out and called them for what they are. No-one else would have had the balls to infer they were getting dodgy pen after dodgy pen to assist them with their push for a title that would benefit the Premier League as much as their own club. He'll always be a top bloke in my book.

Because I don’t like Mourinho? Therefore RS? Why should my views above on Jose bring me under suspicion? Utterly bizarre. Honestly the paranoia on here about the RS is weird. The poster I’m replying to is paranoid about Jose getting some dirt off the press whilst Klopp and Poch doesn’t. I’m saying Jose brings it all on himself. Shoot me. He has one the highest wage bills, the highest paid player in Prem history. A World Cup winning captain that was the most expensive player in the world 2 years ago and he can’t get a tune out of either. Using lack of activity in the transfer window as an excuse for not beating Brighton...........and Spurs..............who didn’t buy anyone. Even complaining after beating Leics that Leics spent more than them! Despite buying 2 30m CDs and having such talent at his disposal like Pogba, Sanchez, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Mata, Fred, Lingard. Think you’ll agree that them players there should make for a very good attacking threat. Add to that probably the best GK in the world and one of the best DMs, they had one of the best defensive records last season. They should certainly be performing better. Perhaps I’ve got it all wrong though. Perhaps the press do too. Klopp or Poch don’t get it though, perhaps it may have something to do with them 2 winning their opening 3 games though. Weird eh?

Think a lot of people have a dislike for the man and so they can't wait to see him fail, which is fair enough and the press now exploit this negative image of their once golden boy but that shouldn't cloud either of their judgement on whether or not he's a top manager, his record speaks for its self. Football is about winning trophies and he's won loads at the highest level.

Obviously, that cannot be argued. He HAS been a brilliant manager. What we’re seeing now is the end imo. It finished acrimoniously at Madrid and Chelsea, each time picking fights with some star players. We’re seeing the same again. Only this time, he’s no longer in a strong position, which big team is going to give him a chance, with all the baggage he brings? His negative football? PSG? I’m not sure he can manage egos anymore. His ego is bigger than everyones. He’s finished at top club level after this stint is over for me.

I wouldn't be so quick to write him off myself, he's still only young as managers go and I think he prob has more trophies in him, whether it's at Utd or not or whether it happens at all, time will tell.
