We need players all over the place. We need two centre halves. We need at least two central midfielders, a work horse who'll protect the back 4 and keep it simple in possession, and one who can take the ball under pressure and create chances. And we need someone to provide decent service to Tosun, so he can just stay up front and central, and not spend 90 mins chasing nothing balls down the wings.
More than anything though we need players with drive, desire and a will to win.

Yep, other than Seamus, Pick and Oumar, we are desparately lacking in this area. We don't just need frontrunners - we need guys that hate losing more than they like winning.

Naismith was woeful, too, but in regard to what we lack as i highlighted - players with drive, desire and a will to win - Oumar has this in spades.
Give me 10 Oumars instead of mercenaries like Schneiderlin or Mirallas, who can't be arsed when the chips are down.

No desire isn't enough
But it should be the number 1 thing we weed out before buying the player.
We want talented players, that ALSO have the will to win and hate losing.
We generally speaking have too many players who can't be arsed.

True but Steklenberg has looked awful in preseason,rather go with a younger keeper with some lower division experience on loan.Or a young Dutch keeper Brands might have scouted.This just feels like a big step backwards.
