Worrying times already. This gang of jokers are not capable of organising themselves and lack the quality to win games on an individual basis. They need drilling as they were under Allardyce and Moyes before him. It’s notable that Martinez has had some success with Belgium without having to drill or force the players to play a rigid system (not that he’s capable of or interested in doing that anyway), all because they have some great players.

If for some reason Silva is cut from the same cloth as Martinez then we are facing massive problems and he’ll be out by Christmas.
We were anything but well-drilled under Allardyce. Initially I thought your love for him was just misguided. But posts like this reveal you as a Kopite WUM.

We were warned by the Watford fans this would happen, scary its happening so early

Ahead of time i was happy to see him come in and im not a miserable cry arse like 90% of the population on here

Watford fans did say though that we would want to hope the board backs Marco’s ambitions in regards to signings etc or the first sign of things going against him he drops tools

I am hoping that was just the scenario for them and not a pattern of behaviour as I too for the second time have picked up on the airing out the board for not having their ish together
I think he has every right to be fuming, Players should have been bought ages ago and not with 3 weeks to go or whatever it is.

Our season will likely depend on whether Silva wins this initial battle with the board/Brands

If they don't get him the players he wants then I can see things getting very ugly very quickly

I don't think he'd walk over it because then he wouldn't get his money, but regardless of whether he walks or downs tools, it'd be bad news for us

Mike. We're about to spend £50m on his broken-hearted lover from Watford. He's been backed from the minute he's arrived.

I'm surprised if Brands came in first, and was involved in Silva's appointment (even though we chose him first, he must have at least rubber stamped it?), that they don't get on with each other. I'll be surprised with this restructure if Silva would need to send messages through the media, complain or anything like that. I thought Silva Brands and the CEO are working together closely, and any other reports might be gossip. It would be so interesting to find out how Silva was briefed about the existing squad, and about stuff like the Schneiderlin / Mirallas 'incident', or about what Williams and Bolasie have been like. Why is Henry O already out, without Silva looking t him? Who made that decision (Not complaining just wondering) and also when will they start trimming the squad to 24.

Does anyone know if Brands goes to Portugal and Austria, I guess he should?

I read that he was/is in Barcelona, to handle negotiations for Digne/Mina. That could be just paper waffle but it's where he should be.

His business is where the clubs business is, there is no need for him to be with the squad.

I'm puzzled by the Richarlison deal, but I'm confident Brands will represent the club well in negotiations with clubs, agents, and players.

He should lead from the front in that respect. The club has form for sending out minions to do its business and you can't get away with that if you want to be taken seriously.

It's the " Sky generation " too mate, they expect much more, than the old gets like me and you ;)

Disagree on this mate. Some of the worst babies at Goodison are the 'glory hunting' adults. The sort of fan who undermines the younger one because. 'I've seen Everton win titles, this lot are terrible' whilst we're 3-0 up.

That's not to deny the younger ones, Evertonians at Goodison as a whole are just a very nervous fanbase. It shows within the first 10 minutes of a game whether the atmosphere will reflect this.

Baring in mind the younger generation have seen the grand total of one trophy win, and a few derbies. It's understandable there is frustration.

I don't think there's a battle mate. This isn't Koeman and Walsh.

He's being backed mate, as an interesting comparison, when he arrived at Watford, 3 players he requested to be signed by the board where a left winger Richarlison, a left back and a centre back, as he'd earmarked thise as three problem areas,

Same area as us but we seem to be backing him in going for all three as the priority

There's no battle Mike
