I am generally for VAR as i hate seeing games won or lost due to incorrect decisions. It does needs improving though and hopefully that will happen after all of this experience. They need to cut out all of this players and managers drawing a square nonsense, they are doing it after even the tiniest incidents and it seems to be manipulating the officials to look at things that they dont really need to. The Refs also need telling that they have to be 100% certain of an issue to act on it, any doubt at all such as having to look at the screen for too long i.e not being 100% then stick to his original decision. Some Refs seem to be getting bullied and manipulated into decisions getting given in a certain way currently which is a real shame as it is damaging the good things that VAR has done.

Never mind the players and managers and even ref mate,. They are minor figures in this. Puppets. VAR is decsion making by committee. It's a massive step backwards and if they dont kill it off then this will kill the game.

I tend to think it'll be binned.

Not sure its going any time soon, personly i think its great but still has issues they need to iron out, but its certainly getting more right then wrong. Tonights Portugal game is a real bad one to judge it on because they players were all over the place, but for the most part its getting factual things right, which without it we didnt always see, its only the interpretation stuff that still has issues.

It's corrected about 30 decisions already that otherwise would have negatively impacted upon the correct outcome of a game?

In short, it levels the playing field - no more home team advantage at Anfield because a ref cacks their pants at giving anything against them.
That’s the theory obviously, but from what we’ve seen there’s little reason to believe it will actually be the case is there?

The pen tonight, the refusal to give/ look at the Kane and pavon incidents and the non punishment of some frankly scandalous tackles in the Croatia Argentina game just off the top of my head show that the likelihood of being shafted by an official remains virtually the same. It’s just now they’ll refuse to look at again or claim they were right first time rather than making an instant call like they used to.

Offsides and the ball going out of play are one thing, but I’d put money on it that var wouldn’t stop decisions like Collinas.

Love how people will point to wrong var decisions and how its killing the game as if we never got wrong decisions before VAR.

Bunch of cryassing drama queens imo, will be fine in the long run.

It's a bollocks system. Major refereeing howlers were less thin on the ground than under this nonsense.

It's to create controversy only. As said above it's the Sky generation + media world's long held objective to turn football into a circus sideshow.

Well done, they've got their way.

Take it out of the refs hands............give both teams 3 goes per game to call up VAR, something like in the Tennis.
They will only call it up if there is a genuine claim, at the moment every decision by the ref is being questioned.

Clive Thomas? 66 World Cup final? There has always been a circus sideshow, all this is doing is offering a solution. Goal line techknowledgey was sketchy at first, now its a none issue, VAR will be soon. Only weird thing is the trial is on the biggest stage of them all
