Could be a handy squad player. Can finish, pacy but needs coaching which silva will do.

Like klaassen, deserves a chance in pre season

He doesn't get into the box anywhere near enough. He hit a run of lots of long rangers going in. It looks like he had a run of form but it's not sustainable as he doesn't get in typical goalscoring situations anywhere near often enough for a decent centre forward. Technically he is very poor, so if he doesn't contribute goals then we will get next to nothing else from him.

...he looked very ordinary each time he played for us. There’s normally a moment when you see a bit of magic, a sign that a player has something but with Sandro i’m still waiting. I understand that goal in Europe was the only goal he scored all of last season for both the clubs he played for.
I suppose the fine print is that here he was in a very poor team that barely gave him a chance and upping and leaving for sevilla so quickly may have unsettled him. He is a young player so still at the start of his career. Tommason comes to mind that as a young lad at Newcastle? He looked average yet he won the champions league with milan years later.

I would want to see him in a team that isn't a shambles before I run rule on him. It's hard to pick him out as being bad when the team he was sparingly thrown into was getting beat most weeks. I would have to question whether he was played to his strengths also or was he just thrown on? The United game for example where he was told to be a target man and hold the ball up by himself?

I just don't want to write him off and 4 years down the line see him playing at a top level

I think he's a decent player in the wrong league and he seems to think he's better than he is, he's not an out and out striker. More of a wide forward or deep lying player who has a good shot and works hard. Considering we only spent five million it was worth the risk even though he wasn't the kind of forward we desperately needed at the time, thanks Steve. But it hasn't worked out. Best to sell him back to Spain, recoup what we can I don't think the English game suits him.

I’d never seen him before and was expecting a Javier Hernandez type playing off the last man and making runs but he never seemed to be anywhere near the area.

For the money it was worth a punt.

I don't think you need to worry about that mate.
