That Hull job will be the best thing he's ever done.

As comments like yours have proven he literally couldn't lose with that job due to the readymade excuses it came with.

"Oh well they never had the players"

"Look how close they did come though"

None of that impresses me one bit. If he had kept them up it would be different, but he didn't so it isn't.

I never said it was an impressive job I just don’t agree it should be used to downgrade his potential.

Proper hard beating Vorskla Poltava away innit.
Must be dead easy to get the lads pumped up to play in front of their home fans in Kharkiv lad.

Proper hard getting relegated with Hull innit.

Proper hard winning the passing against Chelsea in a match they lost 4-2 innnit.

Proper hard to lose against Everton under Unsworth when we were in a crisis of confidence innit.

Proper hard to keep your head when another team comes in for you about 5 months into your contract innit.

lollollollollol

Do you rate Silva's league win with Olympiakos lad?

Apart from the 1st sentence how is any of the rest of that relevant?

Why not? He was brought in to try and do a hard job and ultimately failed. Like it or not that's a black mark against him.

Do not start talking about "potential" with managers, I can't stand it anymore when people go on about it with the players.

Judge them on what they've already shown. Who's last two years are more impressive when you take an honest look at it?

Silva or Fonseca?

It doesn't even compare.

You do know I prefer Fonseca to Silva, right?

Managers like that will strangely enough be going to the biggest teams that offer the biggest wages with the biggest budgets. We’re not that rich.
We are, just that were throwing the money down the toilet, it's there, we just don't know what we're doing with it.
Once we'e finished lining the pockets of crap managers there will be none left

Are you going to be one that jumps on his back once we lose a few if so its pointless as we will just go through managers every year.. eventually we need to back one as a fan base

Simple mate. You don't think Fonseca beating some Ukrainian no marks to win the league two years in a row is that impressive.

I don't think any of the things Silva has accomplished in the last two years are impressive either.

Contracts are extremely complex and each one is completely different, the breaking clauses etc will all have different situations attached to it as well.

Just look at Koemans contract and how he is still be paid whilst having another job etc

I would be very surprised if Watford didn't put any clause in the event of dismissal due to tapping up.

Regardless though, what is it, 50/60 million on managers the last 3 years or so? Ridiculous.

Fat sam should never have been hired, neither should silva because it's pretty obvious what is going to happen.

1. He does well, gets tapped up and falls to pieces again.

2. The more likely situation - he turned out crap and gets the sack.

Why is moshiri not showing any ambition once again?
There is a big difference between "tapping up" and going through the correct channels. We did nothing wrong and Watford can't prove otherwise. If we'd approached Silva illegally and Watford knew about it I guarantee we'd have heard before now.

I'd prefer us to go after somebody like Emery personally, but I'm not totally against appointing Silva and would give him my full support. To not employ him because he "might do well for us" is quite simply ludicrous, and amazingly you're not the first on this forum to cite this as a reason to keep away. We might as well not bother signing any ambitious young manager, or footballer for that matter in case they decide to better themselves in the future.

When he comes in I will back him for the whole season like I did with Koeman.

Not my first choice though and I'm not going to pretend he is to please some of you.

Well done, we agree that neither of their recent domestic achievements are all that impressive then :)

Finding positives in Silva doesn't mean he's anyone's first choice.
