I honestly think physicality is overhyped in the premiership. Pace, height and strength are nice but they’re not what make a footballer. Otherwise Usain Bolt would be playing.

There are so many examples of players without those qualities that have excelled because of their touch, passing and vision. That’s what he should be judged on.

There’s no question that part of his problem is the overall performance around him. Confidence seems to be low. The whole squad has been below par. If coaching & morale/belief had been better, we’d definitely have seen more of what Klaasen can do.

..but you could say that about any player. I don’t see him as an EPL player & definitely not a top 6 player that we need to break in to that party.

Offload in the summer.

It’s so hard to judge him based on what we’ve seen. I think he could be a similar player to Osman. I know Osman didn’t always get a lot of love from Evertonians but he was an important player for us for many years.

Yeah. two of them would play rooney and sigurdsson with Schneiderlin and Martina. Koeman is just making sure he looks good, he's rebuilding his image and PR

Koeman is a proper t$@t I thought he was ok in the beggining but his ego is way to big

Can't see him being happy to stay another year, I would imagine he will be pushing for a move back to mainland Europe where he can play and restart his career. Moving to Everton at this time was a big mistake for the lad.

The same three that would have bolaie playing every week?

Yes mate.

Say what you want about RK, DU and BS (I certainly do) but there is a theme - none of them had any faith in Klaassen whatsoever. He couldn’t even get on the bench most of the time.

Wanna know why? He’s stunk the gaff out every time he’s played. It’s pretty simple.

Rooney, Sigurdsson and Schneiderlin are all better premier league players in their positions than Klaassen is in his, that’s why.

You said it. And he has none.

He takes a pass and gives it almost immediately to another Everton player a couple of yards away to the side or behind. He has no pace to drive forward with the ball, no physicality to screen it and wait to play a significant pass, and no vision in terms of what pass could possibly make life uncomfortable for the opposition. He recycles the ball ad infinitum. I dont see a player who takes responsibility to make things happen. One of the few things Koeman did that was right was to recognise his own calamity and so he dropped him.

There's a collective (and convenient) amnesia about how underwhelming Klaassen was when he did get game time.

You can say the same if bolasie, Morgan, coco etc

Even DCL but he at least has the right attitude. Morgan has been disgusting attitude wise and that's something I refuse to accept. Klassen should have been given minutes over him ... klassen wants to prove himself and try.. we have had nothing to play for for ages and lookman, vlasic, benni, klassen should all have been given game time imo

Quite the opposite. Pace and strength are increasingly important with more teams looking to play a pressing game. Whilst it’s not as vital as other sports, it’s probably 40-50% of what makes up a player.

I agree to an extent but considering he was new to the league and the team was in complete disarray I don’t think it’s fair to judge him based on the few minutes he’s had so far. He wouldn’t be the first player to improve as he gets used to the league and his teammates.
