One the evidence of this year Goat, all that confirms to me is that he sets his teams up to not lose when playing those clubs he has a decent record against, and (particularly away) is happy to throw the games against those clubs where he has a poor record.

They can't risk sacking him unless they have a top manager to come in, but no top manager will come, so it will either be like for like, which is pointless or some crazy risk, which would be stupid.

No he wasn't. The context was he was talking about the pre-season and he said his aim was to maintain 7/8th for next season and it all depended on the recruitment in the summer. From 11:35 in the PC below.

I see today that Everton have agreed to let on loan new winger Henry onykuru stay for one more year at that Belgium club. Classic big sam, who has no interest in bringing in attacking players and even those we have he counts down the minutes before he can sub them off for centerbacks.

In fairness I'm not sure how much of this can be blamed on Allardyce. The lad wouldn't have got a work permit last season. The only way this could change next season was if he was selected for the Nigerian WC squad and did quite well. We don't know whether he is considered fit enough for the summer.

Wait and see. If he doesn't make the squad well the club didn't really have a choice. If he is included and does OK, then maybe we jumped the gun a bit.

Bringing in a Finseca or even a Silva offers a greater risk due to the style of football they play but the chances of reward are far greater than SA will ever offer. Club needs to decide if it's happy to simply make up the numbers.

Crazy risks:
Appointing Kendall, a 2nd div manager
Signing a crocked Andy Gray
Sacking Carey and appointing Catterick
Buying Mere Green and moving the club lock, stock and barrel

In this league with a higher than average squad you can literally afford a shambolic (maybe 2) appointments in a season and still survive. To me there is zero risk getting Silva, Fonseca or the like in.

Comes from the top though. Elstone and Kenwright do not want us any higher than best of the rest as it puts a pressure on them that they cannot achieve. As long as Moshiri leaves these two incompetent fools in position then he is equally as culpable. They need to go by the summer ortherwisr their remit to every manager will just be 7th.
