Jose Mourinho is boss

Wondered today how much less stick Mourinho would be getting this season if not for Pep’s all-singing all-dancing extravaganza. Like if this was a “normal” title race they’d have a decent chance of doing the double right now.

Wouldn’t change their early CL exit so there would still be some pressure I suppose.

All those super intelligent football journalists told us Mourinho was finished though and Pochettino and Klopp were the best managers in the league.

They never ever learn though. Others talk the talk then Jose takes the trophies. He’ll win the FA cup then he’ll get the league next year. His side have already beaten Liverpool City Spurs Arsenal and Chelsea this season. They’ve slipped up a few times to lesser teams they shouldn’t have but they’re by far best placed to challenge City next year.

I find it amusing how much stick Wenger got for “only” winning the FA Cup...

Journalists hate any manager who isn’t called Jurgen Mauricio or Pep. The treatment of Wenger was a disgrace. I hope he wins the Europa, Mourinho takes the cup, then Klopp botches the CL as it will be yet another two fingers up to the know it all football media establishment.

I would absolutely love an Everton manger who was, two seasons in, already sitting on a domestic and a European trophy whilst in the hat for another domestic cup... yet Mourhinio gets flak.

And as you say Wenger gets grief, but if we had Arsenals trophy haul this decade we'd be delighted.

Expectations slightly diff though mate between man u and us...

Bit of a mute point...

Goes without saying a cup winning manager would be a god for us

Fair point re: expectations differing. But... The nature of the game is you can't win all of the time. Well, unless you are Celtic. Sometimes footie fans need to take in perspective. Which we Evertonians always do :D

It is a sad indictment of our fall fron grace as well though isn't it? Casting envious looks at other clubs 'failing' managers. We defo need a god to rescue us.

Mourinho deserves the stick - the amount of money he spends and the football he plays. Wenger tried to play good football and not overspend, happy to try and develop younger players

Mourinho does bring it on himself. He's an ass, he's constantly taking shots at other managers and the media that don't seem to be warranted. His style of play is effective, but dreadful to watch. I'd take Pep over him any day, and probably Klopp too. If Mauricio can get over the hump and win the league, at this point in time, I'd take him too. If my choice is between winning football that's entertaining or garbage, I'll never choose garbage. And that's what Mourinho trots out time and time again. It is isn't entertaining and if they are all relatively successful managers, I want to be entertained.

The problem is they’re not all relatively successful managers. Only Guardiola can stand comparison against him, so if people say Pep over Mourinho fair enough but if people say Klopp or Pochettino it’s madness. They are second rate in comparison to Jose.

That's true, however, as much as I don't like them, I think Klopp is on an upward trajectory. Pochettino I think is what he is at this point.

*Moot point, not mute

Jose Mourinho taking another club to yet another cup final.

Everyone writing him off just fires him up even more.

Get him in when Utd are done, pay whatever it takes.
