fwiw Rooney has played in midfield in pretty much all our decent performances this season.

It’s the partnership with Schneiderlin that gives you eye AIDS.

Rooney can still contribute, but shouldn’t be played unless Gana and Davies (or someone else of similar work rate) are available to play alongside.

They've also just been here all season, eligible to play in 3 cups competitions and the under 23s too

Gana looked better pressing forward as he did v Liverpool. Too often he’s deployed in holding mid or in a deep two. Another player we’re not getting the best out of.

Besic holding with Gueye ahead of him and a top creative mid as the third might be a good combo.
