So.

In the 7 games since he's been eligible to play at RBL, he's been in the squad 7 times, had 3 starts and 2 introductions from the bench.

In the 13 games Allardyce had him, he was in 6 squads, had 1 start (the dead rubber in Cyprus) and 3 introductions from the bench, the last of which was the FA cup game against Liverpool when he nearly changed the game in our favour.

Do the math Nymz.

??????????????????????

I like the kid, I was just responding to someone asking if he was doing well by saying he hasn't played much, which he hasn't? Got zero to do with his time with us.

I would say 3 starts and 2 substitute appearances in 7 games is exactly the sort of playing time he should be getting at his stage in development. You have to hand it to these Germans. They know how to manage promising youngsters a damn sight better than English based coaches do.

In my opinion, and in the opinion of a lot of professionals at this moment in time England has the best youth structure in the world. Unfortunately, the dinosaurs like Fat Sam do not know how to manage them.

Because Bolasie is a seasoned pro and has no real prospect of improvement and Lookman is a young lad learning his trade and will hopefully iron out the shortcomings in his game. Is the answer to that question.

Yeah like I said.. people are patient with lookman because he's 21 and not with bolasie because he's 28 and in his "prime"

Not arguing with you mate. We are the envy of the world.

But we haven't got a chuffing clue how to integrate them into our premier first teams. Not a clue.

I like how this kid an Vlasic have become superstars while not playing just because the rest have been utter dirge. I do agree both should be given more of a look in but, people have gone way over board on their talents. I'd have him instead of Bolasie everytime but let's not kid ourselves that he isn't inconsistent. Next season hopefully they'll get chances.

Not sure about that... England don't produce many world class players

World champions at u-20 and u-17 level.

European champions at u-19 level.

Right now, England have the best youth structure in the world. However, our club managers aren't willing to give these youngsters a chance. Thankfully German clubs are delighted to have them

Youth structure isn't measured by winning comps tho. Means that we have had two good teams , which could happen to any country tbf. Belgium have just had a pool of players come through, doesn't mean that they have the best youth system in the world does it? The one country that consistently churns out top players and teams is germany

The Germans have said that we've got the best youth structure in the world. That's a good enough recommendation for me.

I do envy the Germans though and their willingness to think long term and not short term as most of the managers at our clubs do, and yes, if I was a young player I'd absolutely go to Germany to try and make my name.

Lookman's now been an unused sub in 3 of his last 4 games. The same pattern was seen when he first came to EFC. Given a chance to impress but didn't do well enough so got dropped.
If this continues it'll be 4 managers in a row who'll have deemed him not yet good enough. He's clearly got talent and showed self belief to go to Germany but it may be self delusion as he would have been better served dropping to the Championship for game time.
