He didn't even manage to do that right though.

Oh come off it, he was easily one of our best players for a couple of years. It was all downhill after missing that penalty though. Don't think he was particularly well managed by Martinez.
His first two seasons were quite good and he was a player who got me excited when he was on the ball but has completely dropped off a cliff since that penalty.

Been angling for a move for 2 years now. Gets one and then can't even turn it on for a Greek side (where he's admired). He'll be Mo Besicking us along with other lazy Blues (Garbutt, Schneiderlin, Mirallas, Besic) - we're breeding them now.

He won't get another deal with any half-decent club now, if I was his agent I'd just try get him a move to China in the summer.

Never the same after his hamstring went at Anfield and never looked bothered after missing that penalty. Shame, he clearly had ability but not the discipline or drive to be a top player.

Spoiled kid in every sense I think.

No he wasn’t! Even at his very best he’d flatter to deceive. Run round looking at his boot laces. Didn’t even look like a natural footballer.

It embarrasses me to watch that! Were you at the previous game when Suarez did him & Distin?
That little fairy couldn’t control his emotions (could have / should have seen red) & for what? Suarez was up & running in seconds. Little fanny.

Maybe he was at the previous game when Mirallas was terrorising Liverpool until Suaraz put an end to that with one of this snide 'tackles'. Mirallas was well within his right to nail that cheating gobshite.

I'm by no means part of the Mirallas fan club and know how frustrating he could be even his best spell but he made things happened for us and scored goals. The team was so much worse without him in those first three years, always a sign of how important a player is.

Genuinely think it's just down to his legs going. Could imagine him to be a moody git in the dressing room but on the pitch he usually put a shift in. Maybe that wasn't the case in recent times but as I said, I think that's more down to injuries catching up with him.

During his debut season with his goals at Spurs and home to Stoke, I was genuinely excited about his potential. But that's all it was. A few fleeting moments of magic (another goal at spurs, away at Wolfsburg etc) in a sea of half ar$ed performances. In the end all he was good for was an odd consolation goal. A short tempered and selfish player who was just as likely to get sent off than score/assist.

Seems to have lost some pace, but yeah he was one of our best for a while. Backed up by the fact that he got some quality minutes and starts for a very talented Belgium side. Shame he's made the choices he has because he scored some tremendous goals and could've done a lot more if he wanted to.

A very streaky player. World beater one game; completely anonymous the next three or four. He went back to Greece to try and revive his career in the place it all started for him, only to have the Greek league implode all around him. (Although, admittedly, he wasn't exactly excelling this time round.) If Greece doesn't want him, there's not many places left for him...maybe China?

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

I think, like a lot of players with natural skill there wasnt really a role for him in the modern game at his level. He was often played as winger because he had pace, but he was never an out and out winger. He was sometimes played up front, but he was never an out and out striker. When I think of his best moments in a blue shirt, they often came down the middle. Goals he scored away at spurs and a similar one at goodison (Southampton maybe?) where he weaved his way past 2-3 players and scored. Some decent free kicks and 1-2 long range efforts, all these cam from central positions.

At his peak he would walk into the current side ahead of Bolasie, that was a long time ago now though.

He seems to have lost “it” whether that’s his legs, desire or both. Just offload him in the summer for a nominal fee.
