I know football fans aren't really in the business of thinking clearly and keeping their heads on their shoulders, but this should be a pretty clear lesson in how incredibly difficult it is to get relegated from this division. The required points total for survival will be way above average this season and we'll still be comfortably safe in this utter horror show of a season.

Yep spot on. I think too many have nightmares of the 90s and think the standards are the same - they're not. Our 95 or 98 squads would have finished top seven in this league. The overall standard has evaporated to the point you have a top six and fourteen other also-rans that we've been the best of more often than not.
