..I think you have to look at position by position and see where we’re overloaded. The squad not only lacks quality, it’s unbalanced. Before players arrive in those positions other will have to leave.

To be fair, getting rid of players is hard. They're classed as deadwood because they're not playing well so why would anyone realistically want them? Not to mention most are into the twilight of their careers wilst being on a decent contract. Lots would just sit there not caring if they play; maximise income before you retire.

Much easier to sell a Barkley than it is to sell a Jagielka as an example.

I'd keep the new signings (as I don't believe they've been given a fair crack at the whip), the young boys (Kenny, Holgate, DcL, Mola, Davies and Beni) although I'd be in favour of loan deals for a few of them, Coleman, Gana, Rooney, bolasie and Funes Mori (the last two only because they're just back from injury).

The rest id happily drive to the other side of the planet.
