Exactly, everyone needs to chill..........people expecting him to sign today, slip a kit on and score the winner at the kop end. He was never going to be involved.

True we can bring him on at wembley next week then watch him and the team get rinsed.

We are absolutely abysmal in the transfer market. Clear as a whistle that we need the Barkley deal over the line before we can finalise Tosun.

its not like we can even gamble on the barkley deal. we simply HAVE to wait for that deal to be done, to proceed with our own.

it concerning, with all this money in the premier league and we are still scrimping.

Im surprised anyone thought he was going to be involved in the derby today. The lad hasn't trained in about two weeks and hasn't even met his new team mates yet. Let alone had time to work out a game plan with no margin for error.

I think it should be announced Saturday anyway. If we win tonight happy days, draw happy days and if we loose it takes out mind off it a bit.

You're surprised?

Sam said this yesterday didn't he?

“It is just personal terms now, the final stage,” Allardyce said on Thursday. “After long negotiations we are nearly there. He might even be registered before the FA Cup but securing the player is the most important thing because a lack of goals has been our biggest area of concern, and before I got here. With his pedigree and his age – we’ve not got many players in that elite age group in our squad – hopefully he will show he is good value for money.

Wouldn't surprise me if an ambitious foreign player was excited to sign for Everton, then on meeting our team for negotiations, is thoroughly unimpressed with their competence and thinks "sacré bleu! I iz not putting-da-pen-to-da-papuur for zem".

For his own sake would anyone really wish him to start tonight? No training with our team and coming in to such a massive fixture with no understanding of his teammates at all? Wouldn’t wish that on anyone joining us at the moment, never mind a striker who is already being touted as our saviour and would be joining one of the worst attacking sides in the league. If he played tonight and didn’t bang in a hat trick, half the fan base would be on him from the off- welcome to Everton lad.

If we’d had this ready to go on January 1st then there wouldn’t be a problem of course. But as it stands let him prepare for Tottenham.
