It really is. A player who wasn't good enough for us, Sevilla, whichever team he played for in Germany etc etc.

At £27m he is going to be a serious gamble on the Slimani scale. Not what we need right now.

We've gone from Martinez - Koeman - Allardyce all of whom play vastly different styles and have different ideas on player needs.
We've got a bloated squad with so many players who don't fit into our style of play
We replaced our analytics team (regarded as the best in the business) with 60 something scouts and a bog standard database used by everyone else.
Players are being bought at peak value and then sold on at a loss.

Hate to praise them and attack us but needs to be said.

£75m for Van Dijk hardly bargain of the century. Most of the players they've bought have been pants, with the exception of Mane, who seems to have gone off the boil, and Salah. Coutinho has been there for years, they must've bought 20 players in that time and he is the only 1 worth a carrot.

it makes you wonder how a premier league player can actually be unfit??

his performances and lack of apperances all point to it being a problem for him.

its ok people saying , oh give him a run a 15 games to get him match fit blah blah blah....

the lad should be 100% fit and ready to do 90 minutes whenever called on.

its mind boggling

It's too simple to use stats in that way. Some players coming from "inferior" leagues do well, some don't, there's simply no way of knowing until he's played 30 games in the Premier League. That does make it a gamble, but it doesn't automatically mean he will fail.
