Confirmed Signing Cenk Tosun

The Tosun deal looks like it 100% is going to happen. Normally I would say its typical Everton, and its going to fall apart, but there are some massive differences between this and the Mata hype for example.

Tosun said goodbye to his fans. Then he flew to London and has been milling about on vacation, clearly not about to go back to Besiktas, not in Liverpool to avoid impropriety but close enough to get there quickly. He has made up his mind, hes going to have his move.

The president of Besiktas didnt come to Liverpool on a whim, he did so to close a deal, and one he was sure was going to be closed, whether or not he could squeeze out a couple million more out of it. Both Tosun and Besiktas overplayed their hand, its purely a matter of when but my guess is he signs tomorrow and gets a late announcement. Previous deals that fell apart didnt have a player practially already move to Liverpool, and didnt have a teams president actually fly in after that fact to finalize a deal.

You forget Manny Fernandes!

I suspect they are trying to extract a lot of money so we have him ready for Liverpool.

After that the price will drop.

I guess its down to the board to determine if they want to waste that money on a player that will unlikely make any difference.

At this point I would just hold firm. We really should have had a loan player lined up as backup in case in the very likely event they did this.

Mata was always a con. Jose trolling us fans only confirmed the obvious.

This is real but still a bit Incompetent.

Cenk Tosun has scored eight goals in 24 games for Turkey
Everton held talks with Besiktas president Fikret Orman on Wednesday as they attempt to finally conclude a £27m deal for striker Cenk Tosun.

Tosun, 26, has been in London awaiting permission to complete his move.

But it has been delayed as Besiktas hold out for a better deal than the £25m Everton thought would be enough to get the transfer over the line.

Tosun has helped Besiktas reach the last 16 of the Champions League, where they meet Bayern Munich.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has identified the German-born Turkey international as the forward to add goals and threat to his squad following the failure to replace Romelu Lukaku after his £90m move to Manchester United.

Orman flew to London to try and reach an agreement with Everton as a transfer deal they hoped to do swiftly once the January transfer window opened threatened to become drawn out.

There remains a strong belief that a deal will be done before the weekend after amicable talks in London.

Tosun is keen to move to the Premier League and join Everton, who remain optimistic he will become Allardyce's first signing since succeeding Ronald Koeman.

@eaglebjk please take Mc Nulty with a large handful of salt.
He's as bad as the Turkish journo's that keep getting quoted on here.
Deal may well be done.
But he just copies off others now , no credability.

Congrats guys finally the deal is done. Both clubs agreed on everything tonight in London. Amount is 28 million euros (25 million£). But i dunno this includes bonus or not. Enjoy Tosun!
