2017/18 Oumar Niasse

He's a yard dog of a footballer...but I retain a soft spot for him.

Depends. Sometimes he pulls something good off.

I do find the concept of talent interesting. I keep hearing Niasse is awful, limited, etc yet somehow he scores goals, sets up chances and makes things happen.

Then you have players like Schniederlin. All the ability in the world, cool, calm, collected, makes playing football look effortless. Yet he is also seemingly useless and does nothing of note ever.

Give me the former type of player any day.

you won't find argument with me there, mate

He's a complete blunderbus of a footballer. No skill whatsoever but he does have an uncanny knack of pressuring the ball and flukily getting it to bounce into his path or it ricocheting off him into the goal. Like they say if you can't be good be lucky. Really not good enough for us but beggars can't be choosers at the minute.

Can't bring myself to clap him legging it around chasing their defenders when they've got the ball cause I know he will give it back to them when he finds himself with it again. He really isn't good is he?

Confidence player. Shows odd flashes of some good stuff when his instinct takes over, but when he has to actually think about stuff he struggles.

Well said, It is tiresome seeing all the negative comments about Oumar...he deserves better. If he or DCL had better service in the attacking 3rd they would be putting up more points. I like DCL's pace and more but I think Niasse is a better finisher. He has almost as many goals as DCL and Siggy combined in all competitions. There is something to be said for that...he can find the back of the net and he has served up a couple of nice passes to Siggy in front of the goal and he blew both of them. Similar to what we saw with his pass to Gana against Bournemouth. Niasse is our best option right now.

Plus, I would like to see a true 4-4-2 or something with 2 strikers (DCL & Niasse) to see what they could do together. I don't think we have really seen that yet...maybe against Liverpool but the ball rarely got out of our half of the pitch in that game.

He offers more than Lewin, and is more of a threat.
Deffo.
