pointless slating him. We knew he wasn't a good footballer before we even signed him tbh and then we could tell straight away he was never going to take us anywhere. But he works hard at what he is good at and gives his all. We have a bunch of absolute softies in that squad who crumble under any kind of pressure whatsoever, but this guy actually hurled us out of a very bad position.

I understand a lack of talent because if that's the case it's not the player's fault they're here in the first place, but if they give it their all then i can't criticise, there's plenty of others who us fans should be pointing our fingers at atm.

I love the way he gets stuck-in in a bumbling way, knocking people over battling for the ball and always coming out ok and saying sorry to his victim haha.

This. I can now understand why Russian fans voted him their player of the year. He's immensely likeable and will never stop trying, and because of his persistence will always bag a few goals. But I highly doubt we'll need to worry about Barca or Real Madrid coming in for him.
