“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

People in most professions like that will do. But some are worse than others - I have little doubt whatsoever that the likes of Redknapp and Allardyce are in the 'worse' category.
maybe so, but we don't have any actual evidence of that do we so we are surmising really ..

And yet we’ve risen up the table since he arrived.

Made up we're now picking up points, though the footy has been horrible to watch(but winning footy)

it's early days yet though mate, so I'll keep my praise till I see how the season pans out because it's hard to gauge when we've only beaten a load of gash up to now (apart from a good point against the RS)

At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I don't get all this having a pop at some fans because they are not on the Allardyce band wagon, said it the other day though, some of our fans are easily pleased (that wasn't aimed at you by the way)

I don’t think the football has even been that bad, Lou.

Certainly not the two home games, against Huddersfield and and Swans, where after slow starts we played some decent stuff.

The goals, or the penalties that led to them, were all well worked and did not come about as a result of a hoof up the pitch.

The prelude to JonJo being fouled for the second penalty the other night must have contained around fifteen to twenty passes :)

But the most important thing is that we are scoring more goals, leaking fewer goals, amassing points and shooting up the table.

I for one will settle for that at the moment, given where we were three weeks ago ;)

The myth that Allardyce can only play route one football is now so entrenched that nothing will change it. The build up to goals 2 and 3 against Swansea was great, as it was v Newcastle, as was some of the stuff v West Ham and Huddersfield. You’d think we’d just been scraping games 1-0 from set pieces only the way people are going on. Allardyce could have us playing like 09 Barcelona and after every match there’s still be the same lot coming out with ‘the football is crap though’. All just to get away from admitting that Allardyce has surprised them with what he’s produced in a short period of time.

Well said, Dom ;)

It's very odd that some are seeing hoofball and others are not. Given there are some bits of decent play (which frankly you'd expect given the players on show) the truth is probably somewhere inbetween but I have noticed an almost cult like refusal to accept we're playing long balls.

Just checking some stats it looks like (for the season in total) we are 18th in the league for total number of long balls with only Burnley and Brighton attempting more. Only Burnley seem to have played more inaccurate long balls than us.

A lot of those are from our keeper. We're playing some nice stuff once the ball is higher up the pitch.

Surely the same for all clubs? 94 long balls against Huddersfield recently, almost a third of our entire total. Can't be blaming Pickford for that.

Hear, hear!

I'm not blaming Pickford at all. He has a rep for accurate long balls so we're trying to utilise that to get up the pitch. It's not aimless hoofball.

Our defenders have obviously been told however that when in danger they can feel comfortable with smashing it away.

Just checked the Huddersfield game, he was responsible for 9 of the 93.

I competely agree with you on the instruction given to defenders and I actually agree with that approach while we were in trouble.

But I take issue when people blankly refuse to see evidence in front of their eyes, namely that we are going long far more now and usually aimlessly. Some will accept that, others won't, each to their own but to reject it's happening is weird.

Hyperbole, and nonsense.

That Weinstein bloke hasn't been found guilty of anything officially either; he's still a serial sexual assaulter and rapist.

Add on top Allardyce's shenanigans in 2016 and there's not so much as "smoke with fire" as volcano with an ash cloud that can be seen from space.

The man is a crook in his profession - it is what it is. Acknowledgement with a second chance given is all well and good; turning a blind eye is full on 'Kopites wearing Suarez shirts'.

Didnt see Hitler in Nuremberg either

Accusations and unanswered concerns?

Has he actually been found guilty of anything?

Were you crying when you wrote that?

A simple No would suffice.

And yet, the majority on here have been doing their nut over backwards and sideways passes for years. Suddenly under Sam they are reduced in favour of a bit of forward passing and attempts at being more direct and suddenly that's wrong now.

No pleasing some is there.
