“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

when was the last time we played scintillating football???..........tell me the time and the manager, bet it was a long long time ago......

Well, it was only three years ago under Bobby.

But I take your point.....the football during the Koeman era was so dreadful it seems an awful lot longer ago than it actually was.

But Spring has finally come to Narnia ;)

I will give you that but as always if you want to cherry pick try to be subjective. The team he picked were second best to the worst team in the league in the first half and the only plan seems to be to hit it long. Occasionally in the direction of an isolated DCL. Try that on Saturday and the game will be over in 30 minutes.

We scored 2 pens, one of which wasn't a penalty and the first real piece of decent build up all game was for the second goal after the usual change was made on the hour to rectify things (something Koeman also made a habit of). Their heads went after that second and in the end the game and result looked more comfortable than it was.

We have January coming up and the start of tougher fixtures. It'll be interesting to see where we are after those.

I think you want the moon on a stick. We'd all love us to be pinging it about like City, but that's just not realistic right now is it? Do you remember how fantastic we were less than a month ago? Something had to give and maybe we had to go back to basics a bit. There is a bit of hoofball, but it's nowhere near as bad as you're suggesting. If it alleviates the pressure from the defence or starts a quick attack then what's the problem?

If I am honest with you Larry, I was crying out for a bit of hoofball at times in the first half hour when Inthough we were too laborious getting the ball up the pitch.

Last night's performance was far removed from hoofball.

But the football played under Bobby earned us jack diddly sqwat

But then we never went long to Lukaku under Martinez and Koeman did we? And never looked average against the bottom clubs? We can only beat the teams that line up against us,but I imagine for you that'll never be good enough. You know you really are starting to sound as though you'll be happy to see us lose.

Actually under Koeman we often did. Especially in the winter slump he had, the football was shambolic.

Good point, but it shouldn't stop us aspiring to it always.

We are now being told one wasn't a penalty. The referee disagreed obviously, but our very own MOTD pundit has spoken....so a lucky win...with plenty of hoof ball to thank!

It wasn't a penalty, anybody with eyes can see that the foul was outside the area. The referee was wrong, as are you.

To be honest I completely understand what you are saying about needs must. If you look back through my posts I was suggesting Unsworth bored the arse off everybody with 2 banks of 4 to get points from the start of his tenure. The issue I have with the hoofing yesterday and for example at Anfield is that it's aimless and simply hands posession back to the opposition. Like I say it'll be interesting to see where this now develops and also how much of a stomach for it Goodison has moving forwards.

We're just gonna have to agree to disagree.

We have played one top team as yet - so it's early days for Sam he has had a honeymoon start nothing that concisive in his wins which have been such a relief for the fans - lets see how Sam can set up v Chelsea, and if we get a result then judge him!

...Allardyce can only work with what he’s got. He can’t transform us into Barcelona overnight. What i’m most impressed with is his post-match analysis because he says the team are poor in possession and need to offer more threat. He appears to want what we want.

I also think Shakespeare (in particular) and Walsh will have a major influence on the way we play going forward. I suspect that’s why Allardyce wanted his backroom people on board. Like any senior manager, he’ll only be as good as those who work for him. I don’t think it’s a coincidence he’s connected to Shakespeare throughout games.

The stereotypical view of Allardyce teams might not be appropriate here. Time will tell.

Mick....there was a guy on talkSPORT about fifteen minutes ago, called himself Kieran, was spouting the same kind of downbeat nonsense you have been posting.

Right down to the bit about being “second best” to the “worst team in the league”.

If that wasn’t you talking, this Kieran fellow is plagiarising your “work” :(

There is a more realistic Evertonian, called Michael, on right now and he is laughing at what Kieran said :pint2:

That wasn't the question you posed.

You asked when was "the last time we played scintillating football" and which manager it was played under :)

Three years ago under Bobby.....;)

It was better at times but I wouldn't go as far as scintillating..........and if you go to the match and saw it, a lot of the time it was pretty pointless

How many hope he fails so you can say you were right?

Be honest.

This is the logic of this absurd position, isn’t it?

They claim that they will not go the game while Sam is in charge.

Then state they long for the day he is gone so they can go again.

Ergo they need Sam to fail ASAP......and he can only fail if we lose matches

Oh, speed the day when we are back in the bottom half, getting battered at Saints and gobbed by Atalanta so Mosh can fire Sam and our holier than thou Super Blues can grace us with their presence again ;)

And then these refuseniks get all precious because the sensible heads question if they were ever regular matchgoers to begin with :pint2:

Maybe their idea of a “boycott” is refusing to be Everton when playing FIFA
