He was in a malaise that first half, first time for him in that position up against that kind of opposition system, he can only learn from it though he knows his own performance was nowhere near good enough.
Like a good wine, midfielders need time to develop.

Give it away cheaply a few times like not gona lie.

He’s not the kind of player that is going to take a game by the scruff of the neck and drive his team forward though so I’m not exactly sure what I’m expecting.

That was because he got involved!

If you compare the two, for me Davies passes the ball forward better (yet lots of misplaced pass or just pass straight to the opposition this season) and his link-up play with the forwards is a plus point too but aside from that he has been poor this season. Schneiderlin can win tackles and his positioning is ok. I hope Schneiderlin and Williams will start their revival under the new management. Davies may need a bit time off on the bench.

It's a difficult one because I think it was difficult for him and Guaye because we were set up so deep due to their pace up top. Making it easy for Henderson as he and oxlade chamberlain had far more options on the ball than our lads had. We need to strengthen in a good few areas its shocking we've only got one left footed defender in the squad. Martina is poor but he's a right back up against the form player in the league.
