I don't think Liverpool will have it as easy against us, as they did in the last two derbies at Klanfield.Im sure Big Sam will have us organised and hard to break down.Based on our previous history against that lot, i shouldn't get overconfident. But i certainly think were well capable of going there and nicking a win.

It's the one game of the season that winds me up. Too many reasons to explain on here why.

I'll be there Sunday, like I was when Super scored in a scramble & when Andrei frightened them to death. Also remember Shagger's nestle in the net & Rats' scuff fall over the line. Jags' howitzer still brings a smile as well as Cahill's stoop and slot. Other than those brief and ageing memories we have had very little and I mean very little to shout about.

We have for too long simply frozen out there, played a new formation for the first time that makes us look even more nervous or if we haven't done those two we've simply written the game off as I winnable and made multiple changes mid week and played effectively a reserve side because we have Sunderland at home on the Saturday in a quarter final (we drew) after being humiliated in the Derby.

I just want us to compete for once. Have a go on the pitch by winning individual battles, closing them down, creating options for the man on the ball and making a game of it. Our mental attitude has to change. There is an arrogance about our neighbours and their deluded flag waving history recreating misfits that goes beyond reason.

I'm a realist and recognise where we are as a club and a team, in fact I've probably been to our old ground more than most of them have been to their own club shop (online or in person) but it won't stop some replica top wearing idiot with his selfie stick looking at me in curiosity as to why I support Everton instead of the reigning Premier League Asian Cup winners.

Well I do. It can never change, but while I'd love us to win the League again, I accept that's for another day. For this day, I just want to see us compete, play the game fairly, create chances, defend well and show a pride in the shirt they are wearing, because on too many occasions in my memory that bit has been missing and it hurts. A 0 - 2 win against the odds would also do nicely.

Feeling better about it now than i did last week ..My heart tells me anything can happen and we have to beat them at some stage but my head says they will run our defenders ragged as they will be to far to fast for us ..New manager though and at least we seem to have a plan again starting the game which was missing for a while ....Imagine a 1-0 win with a Rooney penalty in the 90th minute. Now that is what makes us go there every year ....here's hoping ......COYB !!!!

Had this discussion yesterday.. are we capable of parking a solid enough bus for 90 minutes and do we have enough on the counter to knick one goal? And even if we get in front the thought of us regressing deeper and deeper until Williams is in line with Pickford is worrying. A line up of Kenny, Holgate, Williams and Martina really just isn’t good enough. But it’s easier to drill a defence than it is to create an attack without the requisite players, so hopefully Sam is ready.

I think we need the old gods and the new ones to allow fortune to favour us here. But at the same time we need to treat their attack with respect but their defence with the contempt it deserves. It’s very likely we’ll be facing Lovren and Klavan and with England stalwart Jordan Henderson protecting them we should be able to creat a few chances.

Just don’t want us totally camped in our own half with Calvert Lewin or Niasse about 40 yards away from everyone else, totally isolated. Lukaku had that at Anfield last season and although we all lambast his big game record, he really wasn’t helped by our game plan in these types of fixtures. It’s a difficult line for any manager to walk- can’t afford to be to open and receive a drubbing but I don’t want us coming off the pitch without even laying a glove on them.

One thing our favour is that Liverpool have an important CL game Thursday while our Europa fans wie compete dead rubber. All of our starting XI for Sunday should be fully fit. I imagine the same team that started last two games. Thinking about that, wasn't that our first unchanged starting XI of the season on Saturday? Three in a row!

I, I, we're. You're welcome.

Well as people have said, Liverpool only score “pace goals”. As we have seen many times this season, our gazelle like defence are more than capable of stopping players with pace.

And even if they do score “pace goals” don’t count anyway ;)

You're right about our defence, it's bloody awful, two clean sheets don't change that.

I know people are always talking about our players freezing in the moment but we're definitely due one where their best players aren't firing. They always seem bang up for it against us - rightly so I guess, but they just never seem to have an off game when we turn up.
