David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

How is Unsworth even getting any stick at all here? He's come in and basically been made to audition for a job at the worst time with another manager's failures.

There is only one man to blame: he's lying on a beach in Malaga right now and planning his 18 holes of golf tomorrow. The useless Dutch tit.

With the greatest of respect my friend, he has set us up as open as he possibly could.
Two knob wingers, a vacant ST, an out of form CM in Schneiderlin.
He is getting the stick he deserves.

Aye, Unsworth aint the problem here. You ask a trainee to drive a bus, then blame him when he crashes it, is poor form. He has shown his value to the club, but it isnt as 1st team manager. Thats fine.

No point blaming Koeman. Whats done is done. But I struggle to believe that a half competent coach, with a few bob in January, cant make these players into a capable, if not world beating, PL team.

..it’s not about blame, Dave, it’s about getting the team organised. We can have inquests but more important is to make us look like and play like a football team. Unsworth isn’t doing so. Another manager might struggle equally but we can’t standby by and leave things as they are.

Unsworth even had Joe Royle coming from the stands to offer advice. That is a shocking undermining of Unsworths responsibility.

I said last week mate that Unsworth to my mind even after we got the results under him was no tactician. But the stick he's getting is outrageous.

This team can get results but it'll require a pragmatic manager who drills the defence properly. One thing is for sure is that we're not going to play our way out of this mess on the front foot like Unsworth has sought to.

I'm having serious doubts now about that.

I think we'll need a lot of bodies in January to keep clear of the relegation pack.

He shouldnt be in this position though. Not his fault the muppets upstairs have stumbled around trying to get a proper manager in.

I agree to a certain extent but he accepted the job. He needs to be accelerated in his thinking.

Let's be straight, Aaron Lennon in this team is hardly worthy of defence.

Swap Lennon for Mirrallas, Schneiderlin, DCL... There is a pattern emerging

Indeed. Being a good U23 coach is no way the same as a PL manager. Like I have said, that aint his fault. Hes tried, and fiddled, and tried again. But to no avail. Well, little.

You cant just put 9 behind the ball and tell them to press for 90 minutes mate. You set up like that you'll still get an ass-kicking. Man marking tutorials for players in the box can only get you so far...and even that takes a long time to get even remotely polished.

I'm not arguing for him to stay on, btw.

Simple we need a team of good old fashioned strike-breakers....
