It's a no from me. I think the job in hand is just too big for him. He needs to go into management at another team - it will either be the making or breaking of him. Love him to bits though and has done a fantastic job with the U23s.

Dunno he seems to be holding the players to account. Not afraid to sub Rooney also did you look and see where Scheinderlien and Klassen were playing today?

Euros were always a lost cause when he came in, maybe if Niasse was on the roster we'd have a chance to slip through w/ luck. Unsworth probably isnt a long term soln (though in this league no one is a long term solution, we've been an exception). However if he's not going to get to say around christmas, we shouldn't have even bothered making him caretaker manager.

That’s fair comment on Schneiderlin and Klaassen, but on the flip side I could argue we’ve spent nearly £200 million following recent transfer windows, what exactly should we be doing with all these players? Where’s Vlasic? Where’s Sandro? How about our club record signing? To be fair to Unsworth though we as fans need to accept one of two things- either the signings we made were mostly garbage or that these are good players and any new manager will have to try and get something from them. You can’t just bin them off. Do we even have the money available for another squad overhaul? And does Unsworth have what it takes for that? He’s never spent money before, it’s possible that him and Walsh would be a disastrous combination for player recruitment.

I can see the argument for letting him stay on as the current shortlist for managers is incredibly uninspiring. But I include him as part of that uninspiring list. He’s made numerous mistakes in his short tenure here which suggest to me he isn’t the man. Today was a great turn around, but let’s be honest here Watford fell to pieces with their subs and they could have easily got a draw if not for Cleverley. His naivety against Leicester was also worrying. Has he got the starting line up right once in any game so far?

The international break has come at a bad time for him. For him it would have been good to have the Palace game as well and to potentially allow the club to build more momentum after today. Our next four games are “on paper” very winnable, but for you and others who want him to continue I have to ask is it because you believe he’s objectively the best option, or because the other options are currently so bad and unfavourable? Is his u23 work and 5 senior games really enough to get him the position?

When I see people saying they want him there’s always something said about how he’s a true blue, loves the club, “gets us”, nothing about tactical ingenuity, trophies won or great style of play and most important of all, no evidence of achievements at a senior level of management. How exactly does he have a better CV than Dyche or Fat Sam? By virtue of blue blood, rather than red?

I voted YES.

Not that I think he is ready for it at this moment in time, but I would rather he is given at least another month to continue improving our league position before a proper manager is installed.

Appointing Allardyce or Dyche will kill the dream......Unsie must stay.

For now.

In light of Unsworth's 4 games as caretaker manager do you want him to take permanent charge? It is currently believed he is on the shortlist.

Not voting is the cheese-on-toast option. You can change your vote if the next game goes well/tits-up.

I will willingly settle for “another game”, Doc.

That means at least another fortnight and the threat of Allardyche will have receded somewhat ;)

No, despite a win I still thought we were set up poorly and obvoius weaknesses in our game took ages to address.
Like how easy Watford were getting down the channels ?
Our win was more to do with niasse not letting Watford have a moments peace and Watford falling apart than unsworths tactics.
He did play niasse so that's a positive.

Some over the top comments in this thread. Unsworth has done a good job given the conditions he was handed. People seem to forget even experienced managers like Allardyce need time to turn things around. He had a worse record in his first 7 games at Palace than Pardew did in his last 7.
