Mixed in with Daves wild cyber graffiti, the panic on here is hilarious. I think we have all known that Mosh got his money from Usanov. In fact it was widely reported that this was the case. He bought Moshs shares in Arsenal. That was reported as well. Look behind the journalistic pseudo sensationalism and you come up with.......nothing illegal has been done. Rich, clever business people at the top of their game have always been able to operate in ways 'normal' people would never consider. If anything comes out of this 'non scandal' it could be good for Everton, because Usanov will have to make a decision....to be an unheard voice at Arsenal, or controlling influence at Everton. Dave, the clubs name is not 'in the gutter'. Mosh is not a 'divvi' etc etc...but then you know this. Your fake alarm and fear is simply that. You have more experience than most at reading between the lines of journalistic bollocks ,and in reality this non story,if it does anything, will do good for Everton.
I don't know....Everton supporters, some of them, believe nothing about their club unless its perceived to be bad.

I would also add, it looks like the program is about shady/creative behaviour of the super rich, which I have little doubt that both Moshiri and Usnamov could be involved in.

However the BBC presenting an opinion piece on it's opinion of unsavoury behaviour is a very long way from prosecutable behaviour. Even if action were to be taken, I suspect it would be that Usmanov would have to end involvement in one club. There's ever chance he would do that in Arsenal, so it may be a blessing for us.

Common sense at last, amongst the hysteria.

Yes, quite right steve, nothing to see here. Just an Uzbek *businessman* being accused of owning Everton via a puppet he installed here.

How silly of us to make a mountain out of that molehill.

D, the takeover was heavily scrutinised at the time because of moshiri's links to Usmanov.

It took a while for the Premier League to ratify the deal.

It's a complete non-story. Just Panorama using our name and standing to get eyes on a panama papers episode.

The USM deal has happened subsequent to that.

Dave I respect your views on most things to do with football, but jumping on this non story to create negative hysteria is a bit much even for you at your most expressive. It IS a molehill,Dave, and a small one at that. I would never deny you your Saturday morning fun Dave, but some of the imaginative tosh the people are spouting on here has no relation to the truth, and yet within a few years will pass into Everton folklore, and the uninitiated will believe in the nonsense. The actual event is actually a non event. The hysterical fall out, completely false, it what people remember, unfortunately.

I agree with much of this Steve. The only thing I'd say is it is a big issue, but I sense the issue has long since passed now.

An owner breaching PL rules by having interests in 2 clubs is a big deal. Once the FA/PL passed it, and then didn't kick up a fuss after the sponsorship though, the time to make a big issue of it went.

Well let's see how this one rolls out.

There seems to be a lot of people pinning hopes on this story having Everton at the periphery of it - as if that represents good news. It isn't. It's bad publicity at a time when matters are very sensitive for us on and off the pitch.

This is a PR disaster - whatever number of minutes Panorama give over to the Usmanov web of investments. It drags us into the orbit of a disgraceful character like that and sullies our name.

It was under scrutiny. When did they report back?
Just before we put this up...

It's weird, but people seem to forget what the M in USM actually stands for.

What will have happened is that the powers that be will have looked to see if we received a sensible amount of money for the sponsorship which was in line with what a club of our size could expect.

Mosh owns a reasonable % of USM, so they'd be checking it out with an eye on the effective owner of the club bankrolling us from his other business interests and also looking at it with a view on the Usmanov angle.

It pushes the boundaries a bit, but there's still ticks in boxes all round. However, some Blues are weird, and want us to be owned by a 100% squeaky clean multi-billionaire, and there ain't no such thing.

Yeah, but let's just go mad and panic anyway. It's what the cool kids are doing.
