David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

We need someone out on the pitch to start kicking some arse big style, problem is, we've got no one out there to do it mate, Jags or Williams as the senior players should be doing it (was going to say Baines as well, but for some reason I started laughing) the pair of them don't want to know though.

Jagielka, Williams and Baines are serious worries mate, the most worried I've been aboit a back line since Martinez stopped defending being compulsory

Add a rookie in Kenny into that and a constant rotation in selection of midfield and I'm very worried Lou

Think today mate was the first time I said to myself "FFS, we really are in trouble here"

Idrissa and Tom aren't the best pairing to give protection to Jags and Williams but, Morgan hasn't been at his best lately. Difficult choices for any manager?
Thinking we need an experienced manager at the moment?

As bad as we are at the back, we're even worse up front. Nothing to relieve the constant pressure the defence is under.
We go a goal down, and we're done. They know it, and we know it. That's why teams are rubbing their hands at the prospect at playing us. It used to be football, now its next goal is the winner.

That centre mid partnership and getting it right is a nightmare.

I think Davies offers more than all of them but is better in a 3. Gueye and Morgan have been woeful individually and collectively. I'd like to see Morgan and Davies together for a game though protection from that would be like a sieve probably. McCarthy looked decent and then his cheese strings have snapped. Rooney could play deeper, Klassen could, Besic has gone awol.

Such a mess mate, fuming with the mess we are in currently

To play football manager here mate.

Play holgate over one of the other two as he is more mobile and therefore can cut across quicker. Sit deeper and cut out the counter attack from Leicester which would have nullified their attack. Use lewen (or preferably niasse) to play long balls to to beat them at their own game and put their defence on the back foot.

Then second half use lookman and vlasic (who's sister says he was fit ) to counter them with pace and directness eith lewen stretching the defence out of position which would in turn open up space for Rooney to come in from deep and have scoring opportunities.

That's off the top of my head. Either that or 10 men behind the ball and grind a 0-0 to prevent another defeat and something to build on.

Siggurdson has created the most chances for us this season, so he isn't woeful, just not given a proper position to play in.

And he should know the best 11 because he is internal to the club so knows these players a lot better than any external man right now. No excuse to say he doesn't know the team or who is his best 11. Him wanting to learn the squad when we are losing every week nearly is incredibly silly to do.

And this isn't just negative towards unsworth but he is in charge so should warrant the same critique as anyone else leading the team right now. Fact is, as much as it isn't his fault at all, he got things very wrong today .
I did say in an earlier post about the defence sitting deeper, as we get cut open to easily.
As for Unsworth himself surely you have to agree he is have to learn on the job and this is so difficult when you have little or no time with the squad.
Surprised over your stat on Sigurdson as I have seen little or no creativity from him, and still think he has been woeful.

This is a tough ask for anybody, and I pity Unsworth as he is fighting a losing battle on all fronts

The next month will be critical as Moshri needs to make a descion on who takes us forward.
It scares me some of the alternatives....

The thing is though mate, the only game we were under constant pressure was probably City away. That defence just love making terrible mistakes and choices. Up top your right we are screwed but then we don't even create enough.

It's a proper mess mate, a real shambles at the minute.

3 thirty odd year olds and a young kid as our back 4. What the actual....??
It beggars belief we let the window pass by with just Keane and Martina added to the backline. Those 3 old blokes at the back are not up to it anymore.

Rooney needs to stay as far up the pitch as he can because, he plays blind passes and they nearly got us in trouble a few times today.
Klassen needs bringing in gradually and Besic (although talented), isn't disciplined enough to play the role for us.
Not sure how we've got to this situation and given the money spent, it shouldn't have!

Six days Unsworth has proved whoever gets the job till January - you cannot polish a turd with the players amassed by Walsh, and Koeman -
We lack everything ATM - one win may do us the world of good - it will have to be dogs of war tactics, and old stages like. Baines and co will have to stand aside as their legs have clearly gone - it's a big task ahead but not unachivable - we are in a hole we have to dig our way out - If Unsworth tempory charge fails any manager till Janusry will need more than luck, and will have to hit the ground running!

So who plays instead of these old stages Joey?

Who plays instead of Baines, Williams and Jagielka?

I harbour grave doubts that Unsworth is up to the task he's been presently assigned. I'm not dissing Rhino; I think it's a task beyond all but a very select few managers.

We're in a bit of a cleft stick tbf

"I'll pick a team based on who I think deserves to play, not reputation." Davies does not deserve to start imo, ill give him Williams because our whole back line has been awful. Rooney
