David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

Unsworth got his tactics completely back to front, first of all, a team that keeps conceding needs to first of all sure up the defence, unworth set out to win all guns blazing, 2-0 down and nothing to lose, Usworth takes off the two wingers and I think he was trying to go more direct but Leicester where quite comfortable letting us have the ball because we offered no threat,

Difficult for the next man, is Tuchel able to have a dog fight? Do we need noyes back? o_O

That's the thing, I don't think anyone knows for 100% sure. So far in his career in 6 season in the Bundeslga, he hasn't really been in this situation. At Mainz, 2 of the 4 sesons there as head coach, the team where in the lower reaches of the table and ended up in 13 place out of 18 teams both times, and where safely away from the relegation playoff spot. But the pressure was totally different of course, Mainz being a smaller Bundesliga team with small resources and transfer budget. Wheres at Everton the pressure would be huge.

Mystifying half time subs from Unsworth today. Thought Mirallas and Lennon looked our most likely first half.

This was the XI that finished the game.

Pickford
Kenny - Jagielka - Williams - Baines
Baningime - Gueye - Davies
Sigurdsson - Calvert-Lewin - Niasse

Jesus Christ that's our worst team since Moyes era.

Mirallas and Lennon were the threat in the first half. And they were off...very strange decision.

I get what unsworth was trying to do by playing wide players instead of koemans lack of width tactics. I get that he’s trying to change something that isn’t working. And fair play

However what Unsworth obviously doesn’t realise is that the reason Koeman didn’t play wide players is because Miralles and Lennon are not good enough!

To be fair Mirallas and Lennon were probably are best performers and then got strangely subbed at half time. Didn't make much sense.

As we stand, we have to be winning 1 in every 2.5 games till the end of the season just to get to 41 points which is usually safety. Not sure if any manager is going to be able to do that considering how dire things are with us presently. There just isn't any time to build and turn things around even though there needs to be time for any new manager, Unsy included. We dont look capable of winning any game against any team. It takes some believing that we have found ourselves in this situation after how exciting the first part of summer was. Koeman has done a lot of damage and ditto others such as the DOF. Going to take some getting out of this one. Could do with Houdini being the next manager.
Ok, now that's just silly. We certain can still beat bad teams at home and have a lot of those matches left. We were awful today, but we were playing a good side at their place. The fact that enough people thought we were going to take 3 points out of this match shows you how nuts some people are. 1 would've been outstanding.

It seems we are making a lot of rash decisions in bringing players off at half time this year. I don’t ever remember a season like it. To me it shows desperation and that even with a new manager we still don’t have a plan, we still don’t know our best formation and we still shockingly don’t know our best players.

If that's a dig at his weight, then it's irrelevant. Benitez is a fat mother as well but he's hardly got a bad track record, has he? I couldn't care if our manager is the size of Jabba the smegging Hutt as long as he does a good job.

I think he's OK as a stopgap. Nothing more. He's too inexperienced to become a full-time manager and I don't want him getting sacked and leaving the club on a bad note.

I think your defence of Rhino's bulk is admirable but I have to take issue withe general comment re not caring what our managers look like. Personally, after Ronker and Moyes, I wouldnt want another ginger. For me that would rule Dyche out.
