David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

Workers picking their boss. That'll end well.

Yes, the fact that the players are in favour of Unsworth becoming the manager on a permanent basis is slightly perturbing to me.

I do think he should be given a chance, though. At least four or five matches. Considering how incredibly well he's done with the U23s that is only fair. And Barca often promote youth coaches to the top level of management, so we're in good company in that sense.

Why couldn't Rhino's first match in charge be against a side like Bournemouth instead of Chelsea away? Just our luck.

We haven't won away at Stamford Bridge for almost a quarter of a century!

Poor old Unsy. There’s not a chance this situation will turn out well for him.

Scenario 1:-

- Unsworth gets the players running around a bit more and playing with a bit more desire. The fans call for him to be permanent manager after a few decent results despite having no experience at the level

- Unsworth gets the job after pressure from the fans and slowly the results slide due to lack of experience, the fans turn on him and he leaves the club permanently

Scenario 2:-

- The club decides against permanently appointing Unsworth and go for an experienced manager more capable of leading us

- The fans piss and moan and cry that it’s a disgrace that the job wasn’t given to ‘one of us’ and Unsworth goes back to his old job slightly embarrassed by the whole situation and eventually leaves the club

Ray of sunshine you lad.

Who else though ? I know Real Madrid with Zidane so us and those two . It’s just a worry as let’s not pretend we wouldn’t be taking a punt and although all appointments are risks you base those risks on evidence and generally such appointments fail to work and it happens quickly .

If he does well for a few months, he will have done just as good as Koeman who was a non-risky appointment according to most
