David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

Okay, "working" maybe and overstatement. But he'd watch and observe their games a lot and I know wanted updates on progress.

Additionally, he did agree for a lot of the staff their now to be brought in.

Again, in comparison to Koeman, he did a lot. And I also feel he led it on the right path.

If you ever speak to the academy staff they'll tell you that he was far from perfect but certainly more interested than Moyes or Koeman were

Agreed. Unless there's an obvious and compelling alternative available to us right now I think he deserves a chance.

To be honest, I was a little surprised Koeman was sacked quite so soon. If I didn't know Everton I'd assume the speed of the decision implied there was another manager in mind.

I think the board are doing the sensible thing here.

They knew Koeman's time was up and have acted decisively, for once.

I dont think we have anybody lined up, i think they have sacked Koeman knowing Rhino can do a decent job as interim boss, while they weigh up their options.

In the mean time Rhino gets his chance to stake a claim, if he does a decent job of it, he saves Mosh a fortune in the severance he would have pay to prize another manager away from another club.

It will be interesting to see how he plays it. I suspect Kenny may be given the right back spot until Coleman comes back. I think he may go 3 in midfield for most games, with any 3 from McCarthy, Gueye, Davies and Schneiderlin. Sigurrsson may play wide left and I expect Wayne to feature.

Be interesting if Hennen gets a go, also wonder if Barkley will be back in the squad, as he is now posting smiling Instagram videos showing how well his return from injury is going.

He isn’t perfect and I hear that he is a bully to the kids at our fantastic club. The Academy coaches don’t rate him. He will take Everton down.

Remember he was sacked by Sheffiekd United and brought in by Alan Stubbs as his no2 at the then u21 level. Stubbs then moved onto Hibs and he assumed the u21 role. Yes, he won the u23 Premier League, but we have a fantastic group of young players coming through and also, it is not a priority of the other clubs.

When you hear the things he has done to some of those young players, he should not be in football. He is a bully.

He won’t succeed at Senior level as he will not be able to bully the experienced pros. I’m sure though his great tactics of ‘run your f-ing socks off’ will be a great success......

I really like him and I think he deserves a meaningful chance, taking into account the shambles he has inherited.

It's actually a worrying sign that the players hadn't turned on Koeman (save Barkley) - at least then it would be clear what the problem is.

I hope Unsworth will have to courage to sideline big, expensive names if that's what he feels is required.

But I've learned anything from following the forum the past few years, it's that all the esteem showered on him while he was still the 'grass on the other side of the mountain,' so to speak, will evaporate, and be replaced with pitchforks and abuse - or condescending pity - if he doesn't turn things around, and quickly.
