David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

DCL was brought in
Galloway too
Browning
Niasse
You've got Besic playing a few games too
Henen, key at that level, brought in
Lookman played a couple of times.

Didn't Niasse score something silly like 8 goals in 5 or something? Which sadly shows the standard up a bit.

Ours is one of the best squads in the division. It was a great achievement, but it isn't a massive shock. Ours is well-funded and often has players who have played at a higher level in it.

DCL played a few games
Galloway was at West Brom on loan
Browning is home grown
Besic injured all season
Henen was on loan at Fleetwood and injured a lot

We should be very cautious here. The team we play Sunday gave an unproven manager a full time gig off the back of a good temporary spell.

I worry that the club are backing themselves into a corner here. If we win 3 of the next 4 and Tuschel is available, how would we approach that scenario?

Not me. I'm done with worrying - at least not unless we're still in the bottom 3 at the end of November. Spent too many weeks and months fretting while De Fat Lad and El Soft before him at the helm. Just going to enjoy the ride with a true blue in charge for a week or two and see what develops.

DCL - 9 games
Galloway - 2 games
Browning - 5 games
Niasse - 5 games
Besic - 3 games
Henen - 12 games
Lookman - 1 game

I wouldn't say we did a Leicester but I also wouldn't say it wasn't a shock to beat the likes of City with far larger resources and - arguably - talent than us. Please don't cite things like Niasse playing European football as the reason we won the PL2.

I'm not though am I, I'm saying there are a number of contributing factors (like Niasse scoring a hatful of goals in a run of games) that helped us win it. I said 'a striker who had european experience' playing for our PL2 side meant we had greater depth and resources than the vast majority, and it is completely true.

For 5 out of 22 games. You're devaluing the achievement for some bizarre reason.

As you can see from this link his goals only effectively earned us 2 points out 48: https://www.transfermarkt.com/oumar...erein=9261&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=

Here are a couple of guesses regarding tomorrow.

The one on the right is the one jdawg.

I know people despise 4-2-3-1 but it'll work with Davies alongside Schneiderlin as opposed to 2 DMs in the latter and Gueye because won't just sit.

Rooney and Sigurdsson are interchangeable, no issues with either starting as long as it's in that position.

Maybe for a bit more experience I could see Rhino favouring Mirallas over one of the 2 wingers.

That also leaves Niasse in reserve should we be in need of a goal 2nd half.

Not in the slightest - again, it showed (and I'm not massively certain why you can't see this, but your posts are usually fairly obtuse) we have one of the best funded, most experienced U23 setups around. It's not even debatable, in fact it is something the club fully promote. In a lot of other squads, those players will never see first team action - at least 8 of them have here. So again, nice to win, not a huge shock, and not really a recommendation that a coach should be promoted to the full time gig.

God, this is a boring topic to discuss.
