To be fair we brought in an aging defender as first choice, it's hardly a surprise at 35 he isn't up to premier league football anymore! It's not like we had any other lesson to learn From recently.......

As much as you can't predict him declining so quickly, you can't deny that it's a surprise at that age that he isn't good enough anymore. For some reason at Everton, we like to pretend players aren't at the end of their careers and hope they never decline
