Can someone older than me answer me a question please?

People talk about Kendall almost being sacked as we weren't winning games but was he, at least, doing what I can't see RK doing this season and that's looking like he's changing things around to find something that works and setting up a logical team?
Howard Kendall was not blessed with funds - he inherited a poor team - it was an era when managers were given a bit of time- the players were there in the old reserves, and the first team even Peter Reid was in the reserves or injured - then the jigsaw fell into place - Sharp -Reid - he also bought shrewdly before any silverware came - perhaps journeymen players who played a vital role - he got terrific bargains in Big Nev and Kevin Sheedy -Adrian Heath, and Trevor Stephen were his massive spends - then the brainwave of promoting Colin Harvey as his no 2 - the team just clicked into action, then later getting Andy Gray - it was then a balanced team with plenty of cover a blend of youth and experience, his best coup was the signing of Paul Bracewell after a final - even in our sucess days he bought Gary Lineker for top money -the season we won nothing should have been the double - he never had a rich board imo he knew the Everton way of playing football with Harvey - It was a balanced hardworking classy team full of goals, and a great defence with a world class Keeper!
He did not waste money on 3 no 10s, and an extra defensive expensive midfielder or waste money to the tune of £140 million!

The players appear to me to have reached the " Martinez situation ", they have no belief in his tactics, as they know that they're being set up as a team totally wrong.

As such they are beaten before they even step on the pitch.

Hence rumours of discontent.

I think there is an argument that, that could also be down to the lack of a striker. Last season the players entered the pitch knowing that Lukaku was likely to score, and if he didn't then perhaps Ross might or one of the others. All they needed to do was play their game and a chance would come and likely be converted. If we conceded a goal, we still had a chance as we could certainly score them.

This season you can't see where the goals are going to come from. So immediately you know you can't make a single mistake that might result in a goal conceded because it'll almost certainly mean game over. As a team Everton have to work very hard to score a goal, and because the players are fearful of a mistake, they don't take chances, they don't over commit, they just play the simple ball to try to retain possession despite the manager's and coaching staff protests on the sidelines.

Football is all about momentum, and at the minute we don't have any. The quicker Everton can address the striker situation the better.

It'll be interesting to see how he sets the team up over the next three games ( assuming he's still here )

According to Moshiri's law of diminishing returns the team would be expected to :

Brighton = balanced formation / win.

Lyon = as many number 10 as you can get on the pitch at one time / lose.

Arsenal = give every player a white flag to shove up their hoop / lose.
Exactly how I see it, finishing with Koeman sacked.
