I agree with most of this mate, but there is an incentive to have a top football team playing in the stadium on the waterfront doesn't it?
doesnt have to be a top football team, mid table Everton suits his purposes brilliantly to kickstart the docks, that's why we won't see anything like the investment in the team that we as fans would like, explains the sell to buy policy over the last 2 summers and the short sighted appointment of Koeman as manager to increase the profile of the club, Koeman probably thought he would enhance his own reputation as a manager with a couple of top 6 finishes and maybe a cup win before he jets off to Catalonia, a move that has backfired on him massively because i think his reputation as a manager is in ruins there is no way Barcelona will take him now. If you still think his intentions are honourable ask yourself this, Why would anyone with any serious intent of taking us back to the top leave the absolute shambles that is Kenwright and Elstone in positions of influence?

Someone comes in and spends millions buying a sizeable stake and then backs a major spend on players and a new manager plus more money on getting a spanking new stadium for an asset - EFC - that the investment world has ignored; yet you see a scam.

Who cares if he finally makes money? I hope he does. And if he gets his Russian boss to invest then even better.

Koeman may turn out to be a dud but that is football. Not Moshiri's fault.

If that's true, I'm worried that both @Bryan and yourself know about it.
@hibbo'sclass - is this true ? Is CIMA something to do with counting beans ?

edit : Just remembered what thread I'm in. Usmanov will join his mate at Everton in 2018 or 2019 is my best estimate.
He will join us in 2019, vow to regain our PL status and promptly drop dead, leaving us in terminal financial crisis.
( I'm not in a particularly optimistic mood this morning):)

you are missing the point mate, there has been no major spend without selling players, i am not bothered whether he makes money, i am bothered about his acceptance that mediocrity is acceptable (the unexpected loss speech underpins his ambition on the pitch). you are pinning your hopes on Usmanov because you know this fella will not deliver, if you thought he would you wouldn't be bothered about Usmanov

EFC during the 2017 summer window has spent 142 million- 46 million net. I exclude the winter window.

EFC also are willing to spend additional funds on a centre -forward and others. Compared to life under Billy Liar that is quite an increase.

As for Moshiri accepting mediocrity, it was clear to me in that interview that all he wanted to do was defend RK and take some pressure off him. It was a poor choice of words, nothing more.

there never was any friendship between Kenwright and Moshiri merely an association.
