Ronald Koeman discussion

People keep saying the board let him down. I don't see how.

Our record transfer before he signed was £28m. Koeman, in just over a year, has signed 4 players who have equalled/broken that. Bolasie, Pickford Keane and Sigurdsson. These are players Koeman wanted. We went out and bought them.

On top of that, he spent similar amounts on another 2 players in Schneiderlin and Klaassen. Those 6 players have cost us close to £185m.

Put it into perspective, Martinez, who gets slagged off to this day, spent roughly £90m, almost £100m less, on all of his signings, across 3 years, but no one says the board let him down.

He has been backed more than any manager we have ever had, based it seems on his reputation as a player, and the money was obviously there to spend on whatever acquisitions he wanted. He chose to buy 4 number 10s and Cuco Martina.

If things continue the way they have been, then the Board will have every right to question him.

People already have the right to question him, he took the job for one of the biggest salaries among his peers with the view of being a top 4 team / making very good progress by the end of his contract. It's a big job that should include pressure.

That said, I would like to clarify that I'm not in the sack camp. A reassessment may be needed though if there isn't any sort of improvement over the next month or two.

Therefore he has absolutely NO excuse to serve up the sterile, crab football that those of you unfortunate enough to witness live having spent good money have to endure. No excuse.

Crikey even Palace are trying to play

I mean, all of the players are on holiday/international duty.

There's no one at FF.

They've all been given time off which maybe in this case is needed.

They'll be back in at the weekend like last time.

We've got nine first team squad players on international duty. Why are the rest on holiday? Time off is not needed they've got the weekend free! Give them Friday off for a long weekend if you are feeling generous. What is needed is working with every single player that is available and trying to drill into them the system that they are going to be playing. It just sends the wrong message to me and is symptomatic of his casual approach. NSNO my arse!

This is absolutely baffling to me.

Improved last season. Got us back to the minimum we expect to be, and had a superb home record. Played youngsters and we played some good stuff and returned to Europe.

The start to the season has been really poor. And while if he did go then he'd only have himself to blame, why any fan would advocate wishing their team to lose is beyond me.

He was let down at the end of the window and I think now Moshiri realises this - hence the backing. It showed how much we needed a few more players in, and Walsh and the board ultimately have a lot to answer for in that regard.

Koeman himself has a lot to answer for as he doesn't seem to have a 'plan' as of yet, and if that doesn't improve then he'll go.

But to want the team to lose. Nah mate, do one on that.

You've completely missed the point. I've got zero faith in this bloke turning things round. I don't enjoy going the match & watching what he's serving up.

What's the point of scraping through the next 2 & carrying on this garbage?

I just want him gone immediately.

Players don’t want to play for him.

Or, put it this way, if they do, then based on what I’m seeing then we have an even bigger problem.

Only a refusal to see what is straight in front of him, and yes, an unwillingness to part with several million pounds (of the clubs money) is preventing Moshiri from doing what needs to be done.

Get a new man in, I’m fine with Unsworth, and the cloud will lift. Not saying that is an answer in itself, but we need to do something and send out 11 guys who look like they even have a slight idea of what they are meant to be doing, and do it with energy and enthusiasm.

It will happen later rather than sooner, but the dye is cast for Koeman here. He does not fit, does not want to be here, and this is what we are seeing week on week.
