Usmanov

He might have morphed into an Arsenal fan, as well, or at least developed some affinity with them surely, on an emotional level, considering his past comments. It wouldn't be unheard of, even for a hard-nosed billionaire.
Exactly. He hasn't held onto his dead end position for so long because he wants a payday. I think he wants to invest heavily in Arsenal, but Kroenke controls the club.

Either way I don't think Usmanov wants to doom Arsenal even if his intentions are to sell should Kroenke not part with his shares. I'd wager he has at least a touch of sympathy towards the fan base.
He probably has but I’d say he has just a touch more sympathy towards his bank balance.
I’ve met one real life multi millionaire in my life
It was in the bar in the Bellagio in Vegas
He never said he was rich it was the barman when I insisted on buying my round.
Long story short , millionaire told me he’d more money than eithe he or his kids could spend but it was the game that kept him going
He owned over 100 7/11 shops all along the east coast.
Usmanov is probably the same it’s a game and he doesn’t want to lose so if there’s enough money on the table he will take it and go somewhere to make more money and have more power.
Wether that’s Everton or not remains to be seen.

And apparently a lot of the financial heads are planning on leaving Londons financial district looking to set up elsewhere, (read it somewhere, will have a look for the link), so could potentially be Liverpool with the whole Liverpool Waters project.
And reports in Ireland are saying that if it’s a hard Brexit the 200 or so American companies that have their EMEA headquarters in Dublin will need to set up offices in Britain to manage their British interests.
All to do with taxes and liability.
So there may be a need for high quality office space and accommodation

I think it's a matter of

Arsenal choice A

Everton choice B

I think he has tried everything in his power to remove Kroenke, but as it stands things don't look likely. I expect him to fold at some point, but he is doing his best to resist Kroenke for the time being.

Not a chance Liverpool is taking even a small bite out of Londons financial markets. Simply won't be allowed to happen.

Fairly clear what's going on to me. He's basically daring Kroenke to do something about him.

He'd take Arsenal if it came up, but he knows it's next to impossible. Therefore, he's trying to game his way into offloading his shares for the maximum possible price.

By saying he's not interested in selling to Kroenke, he's engineered a situation where he's invited other bidders for his stock, or Kroenke will have to pay big to get them.

It's smart. Everything Usmanov has done is very, very smart. And I have very few doubts that his end goal here is Everton - too many actions and too many words have pointed in that direction for it to be otherwise.

Exactly and when the Yanks came sniffing around Everton Usmanov had a decision to make
For he put it all into Arsenal or secure his fall back position ie Everton
So he bought out Moshiri and with the cash Usmanov had given him Moshiri buys 49% of Everton to secure plan B
It was asked numerous times why 49% ?
It was also said that buyers for Everton are like buses , none for years and then 2 together
It was all done in haste at the time and no one knew why

Well if Dublin can do it why can’t Liverpool. ??
There’s more than one big finance house that’s moved / moving from London to Dublin.
Rents , wage costs , accommodation costs and other financial constraints are making it more likely.
With high speed fibre internet there’s no real need to be based in any particular area any more
Doesn’t Usmanov own a telecommunications company already
Just saying like

The other bidders could be the local consortium that tried to buy in recently or it could be Dangote , Africa’s richest man (12 billion ) who has stated that he wants to buy Arsenal outright and will make the current owners an offer they will find hard to resist.

Nah...didn't you know he stood in the boys pen all those years ago...lollol;)

Dublin is a capital city and offers extremely favourable tax/rent rates compared to London, There are other factors at play too.

Liverpool, as a competing city to London within the UK, will never attract business from there. As for telecomms ownership unless Usmanov buys up Virgin or BT it's irrelevent.

Don’t know a whole lot about British buisness affairs but if it’s a hard Brexit there will be companies moving out of Britain ( London ) and companies moving into Britain.
Wether they move to London or somewhere else will be down to those companies themselves and the financial and other benefits that each area offers.
