Yeah mate, I enjoy people using players (and other people's) actual names and also not actual stupid nicknames.

Did my head in when people called Pienaar 'Peanuts'. Also, as a side note, shockingly no one from the PC police claimed that's racist.

I often call players by their first names, which is strange I never did for Jelavic. We had a more formal relationship it seems

So I always yell "That's it Mason, well done!" or "Cracking save Jordan, good lad!"

But yeah, I love nicknames. Nicknames are ace. I'm always calling Besic "Mo" or Calvert-Lewin "DCL"

Do you also enjoy to sing every little thing ever by chance as well? Cuz it doesn't get more annoyingly British than that. lol

And I don't mind first names, that's fine - I do it too. How long before people start calling Mirallas - Mirry tho? Or something equally as daft for Pickford or anyone. See when it has to be done (because of the language) - sure, example is Bilyaletdinov. It's easy for me to say, but I'm from a Slavic country, not the most unusual name you can hear, but for Brits - Billy's fine.

You'd just call Mirallas "Kev" though, that's a nickname

A nickname doesn't have to be difficult or overthought

Nikola translated to English roughly comes to Nicholas. Nicky is a reasonable shortening of that, hence he's "Nicky"

It's just like Nicky Butt. His first name is Nicholas but people called him Nicky

Calling him Nicky isn't daft in the slightest, nor is it unusual

To give him a British styled nickname is to include him in our wider culture, not to demean his own. Nowt wrong with that
