Koeman has never bought a player in his entire career, hes ALWAYS worked with a DoF, like Ronny is gonna waste golfing time.

lollollol

Actually at Southampton I was convinced les reed signed all the players, however it appears some of them were pulled in from koeman like mane I think...

I really think it is the right model.

However we messed it up by appointing the DOF after the manager which makes no sense.

Suddenly the DOF is working with a coach he didn't pick who must have been given assurances over control over the spending.

Hence we've ended up with lots of overpriced, short term signings and huge gaps in the first team.
Undoubtedly biggest mistake (other than appointing Koeman) was giving Koeman the main say in signings.

Director of football Steve Walsh says he is attempting to “convince” Ronald Koeman about certain transfer targets.

And the Blues transfer chief has reiterated that players are only pursued when he and Koeman are in agreement.

Walsh has revealed that extensive planning for the summer window began once January came to a close and that targets have already been discussed at length.
Translation- I'm trying in vain to stop Koeman from signing some of the rubbish he's intent on signing!!

What utterly baffles me is people defending his record here by saying look at what he did at Leicester. Why on earth is that relevant.
His record at Leicester means nothing here all I will say if he identified 4 strikers assume along with koeman and that list goes to the board to negotiate and secure at least one of them how can Walsh be blamed .surely walsh and koeman knew the transfer budget at there disposal .A striker should have Been the top priority secured before anyone else and before Rom was sold .
