Ronald Koeman discussion

This is constantly on repeat but holds no substance in my opinion despite it seeming to be accepted as gospel.

I don't think Koeman has improved Barkley, if anything he's regressed. In Martinez's first season he was better than he was last year and he also managed to hold a place and play regularly for a better England team than the present one.

He's gone backwards and the tough love has had a negative effect as it will do with most modern day footballers, at all levels, within football clubs.
I said the same thing totally agree he was bang average last season and Koeman's man management didn't help

We've got two difficult games to come (with a tricky europa league game in italy in between), if they don't work out we could find ourselves down in the dead zone. The run after that is good but the worry is that confidence will be tested. This is where the manager matters most, it will be Ronald's big test because we've got a fair few unproven players and quite a few who know the bottom half of the table well. If the manager does not keep morale high we might have problems. Big week for Everton FC.

I wouldn't say we should have "easily" beaten ten man City , but by 'eck we should have tried to impose ourselves on the second half a bit more.

Sitting back just surrendered the iniative and it looked like they had the extra man.

He tried that with Klaassen and Sigurdsson. Did you even saw the game?????

So, our playing style is slow and direct. We're the slowest team in the league, along with West Ham.

Great...
I like the middle split but need to up the tempo somewhat, getting those key passes from back to front will sort it as we've not a lot of pace and we know that. But Could be worse could be the old tika taka style of play not even venturing to the half way line. It'll come good I have faith. Just how long that faith lasts for will remain to be seen.

In fairness, throwing on Klaassen and Sigurdsson wasn't really 'sitting back' though. He tried to be more positive. It didn't work out as what we needed at that point was some pace to stretch the game.

I think Koeman has implemented the style he wants and we're playing it

We aren't yet.

We found a good way of playing between Jan and April last year but unfortunately we burned out as soon as Rom's goals dried up.

The only time we've played the football Koeman wants us to this season IMO has been the first half vs Hajduk and the first half vs City - both different types of games.

It'll come. People have just got to be patient.

It's a pain in the hole knowing I've got to wait out another two seasons of this guy and then another transition season with whoever we get next, whilst winning nowt along the way.

He is doing okay, and of course should see his contract out unless it all goes badly wrong, but I am pretty sure it won't amount to anything and I wish to god we could go another direction already.

Prove me wrong Ronseal. Win us a shining trophy.

No matter who is in charge though, it is great to have Europe and extra Everton games. Hopefully we don't exit early in either of the cups as I want all Everton, all the time.
