2017/18 Ross Barkley

He's refused to sign on a much better deal, because he likes managers who blow smoke up his backside like Martinez and tell him he's wonderful even when he plays crap.

Koeman tries to coach him, make him better, call him out if he thinks he should be better to get a reaction from him, drop him if he's off form, so he's spat his dummy out and wants off and if he has us over in the process he's not arsed.

Like I said, disgrace is what he is, good ridence, I guarantee he will falter at Chelsea or Spurs.

Allegedly he was ready to leave for City while Martinez was here too. According to wrd1878 who is very reliable.

Sort of rubbishes the manager relationship shouts.

Maybe he's just like most other humans and is thinking that a change of scenery could be good for him?

He's done nothing wrong whatsoever. Everton had the option to sort this out 12 months ago and they didn't take it.

What if he rejected that too? We never know what had happened. The thing is he loved his coach to blow smoke up his a.

Don't believe we've left his contract renewal too late.

Willing to bet this has been on Barkley's mind for a while (2 years?) and he's determined to leave.

We're probably pushing Chelsea for a few more £££ - especially now Oxlade-Chamberlin seems to have swerved Chelsea.

Could've sworn all the media outlets loved saying how crap Barkley was whilst with us and how it was no surprise he didn't get picked for England.

Now as soon as Chelsea and Spurs are in he's being described as 'England starlet' and bigged up.

Ridiculous. Reckon this is 99% of why he's going and he was inspired by John Stones ever since he left for City...

There might be something to that, re: Stones.

You've got Martinez saying in Feb 2016 that Barkley's contract will be looked at during Summer 2016... then Stones leaves, with Lukaku mouthing off about wanting out, every time he's back in Belgium.

In comes Koeman and declares in December 2016 that Barkley's contract "Is not a priority right now" - odd thing to say?

I think that time frame - July 2016 to December 2016 is when he's made his mind up.

What Ross said in 2014 - “I realise the importance of signing because I remember how I felt when Wayne left. He was one of the best players in the team and we thought we could push on with him at Everton. When he left we were all down as Evertonians. I just wanted to sign and hopefully we can push Everton on together.”

Seen a stat today on Twitter.

Since 2013 we've won 37.5% of games without Ross starting and 40.9% when he does.

We draw 5.4% more without him though too, according to all this.

Selling Ross Barkley (or at least getting into a position where we are having to) is one of the most short-sighted things I've ever seen the club do.

This is not the clubs fault. This is all down to Barkley and no one else. He has stitched the club and its supporters up good and proper and no one should be making excuses for the little scrote.......good riddance......

How has he stitched the club up good and proper ? you think a player who wants to leave should have signed a contract drastically decreasing the chances of him leaving ? Do you think he should put Everton before his own career ambitions ?

Were you equally outraged at the club when we stitched up Niasse only a few months after giving him a 4 and half year deal ?

Why do people get angry with players for stuff like this but not at clubs when they far more regularly try and screw their own players.

Redshite getting all giddy because AOC wants them. Well no, he only wants you as he has realised he wont get near that Chelsea midfield and thinks he can get in yours. Sloppy seconds comes to mind

re.Ross, was convinced Spurs would get him, but reports now Levy wont sign him as he is injured. Someone posted above (and i think its a good shout) Llorente to Chelsea, Batshauyi and money for Ross, or straight swap but the both deals are done independently

The Chelsea offer may change things but this is worth a look in royal blue mersey.......

"Ross Barkley decided he was ready for the SHOW. Champions League, bright lights, the world’s biggest clubs...and it turns out no one thinks he’s actually worth very much.
This was already a problem before Barkley injured his hamstring, and now reports are coming out that his injury has made him even less desirable. Tottenham, fresh off multiple profitable sales this summer, do not think it’s worth pulling the trigger only to be without the midfielder.
Chelsea’s interest has dried up, too, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly the lead target that the defending champions want in their side, leaving no space for the English international from Everton.
Oh, and about that “English international” part. Barkley has not been a part of the Three Lions since May of 2016. With his injury and the depth added by Everton, it seems unlikely that Ross is going to get the game time he needs on the club level to earn his way into next summer’s World Cup.
People take risks all the time. When those risks are wise and calculated, they can pay off and make a person’s career. Ross setting his bridges at Everton ablaze was not a calculated risk - it was brazen arrogance and it is coming home to roost for him.
Ross Barkley might be a great depth piece for this current Everton side. There are certainly minutes for him to have. However, he needs to take a dose of humility and start putting in the work to finally become the player we all thought he was going to be, and who he apparently already thinks he is. Barkley’s injury situation seems to have left him showing back up in the office trying to act like nothing happened."
