..I understand the Jimenez price tag has dropped significantly as he's struggling for game time at Benfica. Most on here suggest he's useless.
He's talented, but not sure he'll ever be great. Big, quick, skilled, tons of talent...just not a lot of productivity and a lot of typical Mexican diving.

Warnock wants a silly money top ten club offer for Zohore....£25mil expected to be the sum...I honestly thought if anything we were looking at a Unsworth signing. I'm gobsmacked at these figures.

All three of you just gloss over what I actually said though.

Firstly he 'has a hand in helping' to identify targets? Seriously? You think Steve Walsh walked in and said 'Look Ronny hear me out, I've seen these lads called Stekelenburg and Martina who I think could do us a job' and it just so happened that the manager had previously worked with them? Give me a break.

Of course he's not involved in the detailed negotiations, no manager is. But if his list of targets was a) Morata b) Lacazette c) Giroud can we really blame the board for not managing to get one of them? If Walsh has gone to him and said what about Dembele, Jiminez etc but Koeman has said no keep trying for Giroud instead then that is a major factor isn't it.

I'm not saying any of these things have happened, it just seems a little precious to be immediately jumping in saying 'it's absolutely nothing to do with Koeman whatsoever' when in reality you have no idea what's happened.
There's no way that's how this work.

Koeman doesn't direct Steve Walsh. He may suggest to Walsh, but his idea that Koeman is over him in any way in terms of getting and evaluating players is silly. They've said they agree on players. But Walsh is identifying, scouting, and finding a heck of a lot more players than the ones Ronnie has suggested to him.

Looking at prices being quoted for some players now, I am thinking our early activity was good business, as I'm sure if Keane and Pickford would be going for a lot more today.

Oh no of course not.

He has a huge hand in identifying said targets - and as you correctly point out the final decision on whether we do go for said targets will be his. But it's not that he deals with getting the deals done himself.

As far as I'm concerned, Koeman is responsible for what happens on the pitch and providing the people who deal with transfers a template for what he wants - whether that be a certain type of player (I believe Sandro is an example of this) or an exact player (Gylfi is an example of this).

Koeman is to blame for his poor tactics at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. He isn't to blame for us potentially not getting a deal for a striker done (which hasn't happened yet either way).

Ours have been deeply. As recently as Moyes. It's why Pulis is looked at sideways because he is heavily involved and some people think corrupted. Allardyce is another one.

I really can't tell if it's just bait or lunacy as you later say

"Not saying any of these things have happened" and yet you're getting upset about them ...

Except we actually did get that money for Lukaku. All good Cardiff saying they want that much but they ain't getting it.

End of the day our deal for Lukaku was worth £100m in total. That's the right amount and a good deal for us. The Dembele and Coutinho fees are only because Barca are completely desperate.

It wasn't, it was £75m with the potential to go to £90 - none of us know what the add-ons are but that wasn't really the point. I think time will show how good of a deal Man Utd got for Lukaku.

Everton did well to move quick for some players in a market that has gone bonkers and I suspect Pickford, Keane etc would cost more if we signed them today.

Pretty certain those add ons will be paid up by the season's end, or most of them, at least
