Has looked really solid in preseason but I think he needs a target man to aim for in the middle as he too often looks up to cross and after seeing nothing there, changes his mind.
I agree he's looked good, whilst he may not be doing the flashy eye-catching stuff with Pienaar anymore if we had that kind of player Baines could still do it. He's far from finished, he's fit and got a great football brain. He can read and change the pace of games from full back. Still a fantastic player and one of the first names on the teamsheet. I can see him getting involved in quick sharp passing moves on the edge of the box with Sandro and Rooney this season. He's ace and anyone who disagrees is a bad ted.
