This extension doesn't effect this season mate, so Mori should be back long before the extension kicks in.

I'm sure that the situation will be reviewed at the end of the coming season and, if Jags isn't getting the games he wants, then he'll be given the opportunity to move away on a free, but, if he's happy to stay, then he'll be able to do that.

I know he had a year left, probably no need to give him another year in truth.

I am thinking if Mori had not have got injured they would have let Jags go now and still brought another in, but with that happening this rewards Jags for staying when he could have left and got more game time elsewhere.

Our defensive options are an utter joke

Crocked Coleman
Coco the clown Martina
Tugboat Williams
Past it 'Jags'
Baines past his best
Crocked Mori

Only Keane is good enough at present.

Been banging this drum all summer. The defence needed a 100% overhaul, one incoming centre back is nowhere near good enough.

Capt Jags is a natural leader though..a strong silent type who the refs know will suffer no nonsense. One year extension (with an option to extend a further year should he desire it) seems a little short to me though. Leaders like Capt Jags come along rarely. I would like to see him locked in a lot longer to keep the CL clubs from sniffing round our mighty club captain

I do not think @Walken will be happy with this news.
Capt Jags and Tubby Williams will be an experienced CB pairing. CL quality defenders? not sure but I'm looking forward to seeing a back four of Cuco, Tubby, Capt jags, Bainsey

Not too many forwards would fancy their chances against that line up!!

Don't know why your complaining mate the retirement age is going up all the time under the Tories.

As much as I think he's pretty much done, I don't mind this. Decent leader, can fill in when needed and now he could command a nominal fee if he moves next summer or in January.

I wasn't complaining. I was complimenting the quality of our back 4 as we vie for a CL spot. I have high regard for Cuco, Tubby and Capt jags. Bainsey though , I'm a little suss on. Age is catching up with him and he can't always rely on the speed and skill of Cuco, Tubby and Capt jags to get him out of bother
