A brilliant save on to the bar last night to add to a number of others he's made for us, as good as anything I've witnessed in 55 years of watching the Blues.

It's like the bloke down the road you've never once thought about had a love child with an average sized tree and they told him "if you are as inoffensive as we are people will forgive your limitations."

The stek started great last season - his positioning and coming for the ball is his achilles heel or his many groin strains!
Pickford will play and we need another keeper as back up!

Well, when he does you can post that; but he played really well, don't you agree Davo?

For what it's worth, I don't think he played that well at all. Made a good save, but every time the ball came to his feet he looked nervous as hell and kept spooning it straight to one of their midfielders. There was a really weird moment when a ball was played over the top, nowhere near any of their players that Keane had mopped up, and next minute this fella appears for no reason rushing out of his box and boots it out for a throw in. Led to a half chance which could have easily been the equaliser.

I'm nit-picky with keepers, but this fella I just do not rate in the slightest. Can't be our "cup keeper" if we're serious about winning something.

nearly any keeper can make world class saves. a bit of luck here and there. making saves is only a small proportion of what you need ability wise to be a top keeper.

Stek lacks in many areas and we saw last season he made many errors that cost us, despite on occasion keeping us in games.

I like the inclusion of that word, as you remembered Tim Howard exists.

No. He had little to do.

He'll let us down a lot if we play him a lot. This we know.

By your own yard stick a creative player at one end makes one chance or tucks one away without any of the graft, he's paid for himself.

Stek got a clean sheet and kept us ahead the tie, deserving his due and what little he had to do he did it with no fuss, and was there when needed.

What you may or may not think he'll do further up the road is not up for debate yet until he does it, surely? Just an observation.
