Early days but like the look of him. Offers something we've been missing for a while.... Joined up play in the final third.

Quick passing and good football brain. Kind of like the opposite of Ross.

Looked good to me in the first half, his neat one touch football worked well.

What we were lacking was a striker with quick feet to finish off the types of chance he'll create that relies on movement.

That's what struck me most about the performance last night.
Both spot on about lack of pace from us last night something that won't change buying sigurdsson .for me rooney klaassen and sigurdsson will all want to play in the same number 10 position maybe klaassen will be able to run on past the forwards

Maybe we need another pacy striker then instead of a target man.

The runs he makes are excellent.

He should have scored last night in the first half but just to see a midfielder actually make a run like that into the area is something we haven't had in a while.

When it all clicks, we can be a real force this year. Rustiness is to be expected.

I've said in the match thread, the lack of pace and creativity in the side is a concern. Chatting to my mates at the game, I would have brought in Sandro and lookman at half time (Sandro made an immediate impact when he came on). But arguably as greater cause of concern was the defence. The thought of martina and Williams lining up against city at the etihad against sterling, sane and aguero is the stuff of nightmares.

Very promising this lad, touch is boss, loves a 1 touch pass, great movement and bigger than I thought.

was impressed with him first half. Great footballing brain on him and think he will do well for us. Good engine on him.

Only issue is having him rooney and Sig in the team together. Not sure what the manager will do.

And with this level of support, can anyone really be shocked that Barkley wants to leave.

Christ, one distinctly average performance against a very mediocre Slovak side and people are already rating him above Barkley. Absolute nonsense and rather highlights why we have had a glut of these 'Farhard's Magnificent Men 9 months away from League title glory' threads that are already popping up

Well said mate.

I know its very early days and don't want to come across as bedwetting but last night was disappointing not just the performance but the balance of the side was all wrong
