Loved his first time passes. The lad thinks quick and knows the right ball to play. Seems to have a proper footballing brain. Oh how long we've missed that in the final third!

Looks a quick thinking player, I hope he can link soon with Sandro and Rooney. I think him and Davies would be on the same wavelength.

Has better movement and basic skills than the majority of our entire squad, and we got him on a free and people we fuming about it - all that needs to be said imo
Is going to be a player and will get 7 or 8 goals and a good 10 assists this season. Good first touch and aware of space
Fine bit of business on a free will grow into his first team role to the point where we'll think hes been there forever.
Looks really competent. Good signing, improved our squad comfortably.
Should have scored but hell net soon enough. Loads of faith in him and loves to work back as well which takes the pressure off some of the other midfielders that were having to run two marathons a game covering.

Backed him this season for 7 or 8 league goals and 10 or so assists.
I think he is one of those players who you dont really notice, but somehow makes things tick for other players, be it dragging markers about, holding the midfield at corners, that sort of stuff.

All very similar to comments about Klaassen so far.

Make of that what you will.

He's the kind of player who needs other players to be completely selfless. There were like 3 oppurtunities for Roo and DCL to pass instead of finish where Davy was perfectly positioned. If anything, Davy is going into my fantasy team this season.

He did ok.

Yes, good around the box as others have suggested. But he passed a lot and that for me betrayed the fact he doesn't have a little turn of pace players who play further up the pitch need to just commit defenders and carry the ball to the box. He may have got the time to do that in Holland but he's got no chance here in the PL of driving at a back four with that pace of his. I think that was also evident against United in that EL final.

It's very early days, but my suspicion that he's a player who is technically sound and who can provide decent interplay but is limited for this league due to pace was firmed up after last night.

Lack of pace doesn't necessarily mean he'll struggle if he's got the intelligence to make up for it.

Although he's not the quickest, his movement and quick one touch football can open up space for him in other ways. Needs the other players to be on his wavelength though

Hmmm.

Where do you play him?
