Super Kevin Campbell appreciation thread

Dark times back then, but super Kev was a ray of light for us. Just wonder how good his record for us would of been, if he had been served by higher-quality players around him.

Am amazed that in an era when the likes of Emile Heskey and Darius Vassell won dozens of caps for England, Kev was constantly ignored for the national side. Ridiculous.

What I loved about him was that from the word go he conveyed a sort of "you guys do know you are Everton don't you and that means something big " confidence even though everything else was pointing to another last day struggle, or worse. We were terrible!
Came out of nowhere, owed us nothing, grabbed us by throat and got people to believe we could escape, intelligent footballer too and obviously got Everton too. If Wenger had re-signed him he would have got his money's worth out of Jeffers!!!
Loved Super Kev!!

...he was smashing for us and deserves great credit for helping keep us in the top flight. Fond memories but I wouldn't put him with Everton's finest.

Don't underestimate how far he moved us forwards with regards to ridding us of the " Everton are white tag ".

Plus he didn't do it by getting on his soap box, he did it by simply being himself on and off the pitch.

* he wasn't perfect though, as he signed that uber bellend Mark Morrison to his short lived record label after he retired lol
