Aiden McGeady

Good luck to him, he played well in the championship last year and if he can help them come back up great. I just hope it's a sal rather than a loan.

There were a few balls he sent in, one for Kev vs West Ham iirc, that were simply sublime.

Unfortunately he often seemed to do the hard part well and then trip over his own feet doing something easy that messed with his confidence.

Wish him, and Sunderland, well.

I was at Leicester when he scored that free kick and I thought we'd got ourselves a bargain.
Heh, I was wrong, brown smelly stuff happens.

I think he's a lazy bugger who, because he has a fair amount of talent, thought he could just coast his way through a career and end up playing at the highest level. I hope he knuckles down and really works at it now, because there's a talented lad in there, it's just well hidden a lot of the time.

i know quite a few PNE fans and they all think the sun shines out of Aiden's arse.

The thing is, in the Championship, he gets more time on the ball than he ever did in the Premier League, and he's actually quite skillful, but not skillful or strong enough to hack it at the very highest level in England. I reckon he'll do well for S'land, but, if they bounce back, he'll struggle.

The only time he looked good for us were in the Europa League, where, again, he got more time to do his stuff. He's not a bad footballer, he's just not suited to the Premier League. Essentially he's the Irish Deulofeu.

He's not suited to football Woolly and also likes pies a bit too much

They do very good pies at Deepdale mate.
I don't think I've ever had one at the Stadium of Light though.

He's made a very decent living at football, and will continue to do so, he's just not top drawer. As usual, on the internet, if someone isn't top drawer, then they're s h one t. He's found his level in the Championship, which, lets be honest, isn't much different to the level he was playing at with Celtic

yeah, this is why i had no argument against signing him. We all knew he'd more than likely flop, but for half a mill with the talent he has, it could have just turned out to be a bargain and we were never going to sell for a loss anyway.

I was there and my enduring memory was how crap his corner was that led to the chance.
Tomato/ tomato.

I think this illustrates why I'd have been an awful accountant mate
The accountant will remember the bad stuff, whereas I, being a simple soul, go home feeling happy about the good stuff I've seen.

I have it on good authority that @davek is also an accountant.
Please accept my apologies for comparing you to dave, you are, without doubt, one of the nicest blokes on here.

Run out of sarcasm font again Woolly?

You're not a mod no more Woolly?

Wtf. Since when?

Christ's sake, where have you been lad ?

I've been freelance since something like April 2016, and have done a fair bit of work on other forums in that time .... with much better day rates than on here too.
Well that's absolutely BS lad.

Are the replacement mods up to your standard like ? At least you're still posting. Nice

Err mate, you've got the wrong end of the stick. For personal / professional reasons, I had to wander away from mod central with it's comfy seats, top notch whisky and high class porn ( which is why there are no female mods ). @AndyC is now sat in my old seat, though, to be honest, I think he's a bit broader in the beam than I am, so it's likely a snugger fit than it was for me, but thanks for the kind words anyway, and i hope your old multi is keeping well !
