How do you get to be a CL player if you've never played in the CL. He's got a few games of Championship I'll grant you that though...

Hodgson = 3 tournaments. 3 wins out of 11 games. Didn't get out of the group stages at the World Cup. Lost to Iceland in the Euros.

Allerdyce = Managed 1 game.

Southgate = Managerial successes include being sacked by Middlesbrough and getting them relegated, after years of not having coaching badges. Taking the England Under 21s to a Euro championship...and not getting out of the group stages.

I'll reiterate the point in using the national team as an argument for any player is void due to how awful the set up and coaches are.

I like Ross but he isn't a CL quality player.

He can be when he wants to be, that's the real issue. After the punch up, after the newspaper thing he was the stand out player in the team. Just needs to have that same desire everytime he plays.

He'll be walking out to the CL theme tune next season. I'm sure he'd rather hear that than that national anthem dirge and having to play for Southgate's Zeros.
