A lad I work with today said a mate does driving for the club and told him he's booked to pick Klaassen up from the airport on Thursday. He's a decent lad but iv no idea how reliable he is on this sort of stuff

As has been said, that's not what he said at all mate. He did the exact reverse of that: allowed Pogba to take up the vacuum left by Klaassen when the latter wandered off.

In other words: Mourinho felt the threat from Klaassen was not worth snuffing out and that he'd come unstuck against a wall of defensive players. Now that is something he'd be tasked with doing if he ever came here: break down a bank of deep sitting DMFs and a back four.

We need someone a bit more cuter on the ball to break open defences.

Klaassen looks the typical jack of all trades master of none to me: adequate in all departments but doesn't have the engine or pace for a box to box MF; not really a player who sits and holds; not a classical No.10.

I havent seen that much of Klaassen, but all these "Based on the ELFinal, Barkley is twice the player"-comments are absurd to me. Ross is excellent on his day, but we all know how unstable his form is. If Ajax supporters watch a random set of Everton matches, Im pretty sure they would say Klaassen is a much better player too. Out of all our matches this year, it would be fairly easy to "accidentally" watch 10games with Barkley going missing, being greedy and giving the ball away, insted of passing the ball to players in better positions, in every single one of those games. Id prefer a less "gifted" player, showing up in 90% of our games, than a "gifted" one showing up for 10%.
